Today is World Tourism Day, a moment dedicated to promoting responsible and sustainable tourism. We firmly believe that travel, exploring new destinations, and encountering new cultures and surroundings, can offer unparalleled moments of human connection, innovation, and inspiration, but we also know that as part of this gift, we have a duty to consider the impact of our adventures. As a proud brand under Preferred Travel Group, we’re deeply committed to sustainability and climate action. In partnership with The Travel Foundation, Preferred Travel Group is developing a comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CAP), following the signing of the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism. This plan sets ambitious goals, aiming to cut carbon emissions in half by 2030 and reach net zero before 2050. Together, we’re working to ensure travel remains a force for good, for people and the planet. To kickstart this initiative, we worked with carbon consultancy, ecollective, to establish a baseline for our carbon emissions companywide. This baseline is now guiding the development of the CAP, which will outline specific strategies to reduce emissions, reach ambitious targets, and enhance accountability and transparency within the organization.
