What a great time at PrivTech Invest (https://lnkd.in/eGmNb8Wb), hosted by Grit Capital Partners! We brought together some of the brightest minds from the industries we invest in to explore Applied AI and the private investment ecosystem. I had the privilege of moderating a panel on Applied AI in FinTech, joined by an amazing lineup of Founder CEOs: * Laura Kornhauser, shared insights from her work with financial institutions to accelerate data driven decision making as Founder & CEO of Stratyfy * Logan Weaver, Founder & CEO of Surmount AI, talked about scaling consumer adoption of AI-driven financial strategies, and * Naré Vardanyan provided a unique perspective on labeling and structuring data in financial services as the Co-Founder & CEO at Ntropy Together, we delved into themes such as: - The growing role of AI in both front-end consumer experiences and back-end operational efficiencies - How AI is transforming the way financial institutions handle data, customer trust, and regulatory requirements - Opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for both startups and incumbents in this evolving landscape The challenge of integrating deterministic and probabilistic AI to serve such a highly regulated environment is real, but it’s clear that the potential customer benefit will make the effort worthwhile. #FinTech #AI #AppliedAI #PrivTechInvest #Finance #Innovation

What a fantastic week at #JHConnect! We saw a strong turnout and engagement for our panels on "Data-Driven Credit Decisions" alongside Renee Weatherby (Jack Henry), David Smith (FICO), and Eric Steinhoff (Scienaptic AI) & "Navigating 1071" with Kristin Zell (Jack Henry) and Tina Cline (FCB). These discussions and follow-up conversations highlighted one of my key takeaways from a packed and exciting week: 🎯After navigating the challenges that have occupied minds (and budgets) for the past ~18 mo, community financial institutions have re-focused on driving responsible change through innovation and are ready to take action now. When we were at this conference 1 year ago, it was hard to even talk about lending (top 3 priorities were grow deposits x 3), but this changed (big time) this year. The pendulum is swinging back towards a re-focus on lending. 💎 Loved catching up with our amazing friends and partners in the tech hall – while skillfully dodging those late-afternoon espresso martinis😎. 🏎 Special shout out to our amazing colleague Elizabeth Haile for getting us going on Waymo rides (which I highly recommend). They turned every trip into an adventure, while also feeling a little like we are approaching Total Recall 🤖. Deniz A.
