About us
Our studio adopted the term Troika for its symbol of teamwork — something we feel to be essential in the design and construction of architecture. The building profession brings together a remarkably varied group of individuals. When this diverse group works in concert with one another the possibilities are infinite and the project benefits are exceptional. Our studio strives to involve the client, engineers and contractors as active and contributing members of the project’s development and eventual success. Since its inception, studioTROIKA’s focus has been providing our clients with the best design service possible. From the overall concept to the last detail, we approach each project, regardless of size, with a tremendous amount of energy, creativity and professionalism. studioTROIKA distinguishes itself by building thoughtful relationships with each client in order to create designs which reflect their personal and project goals. studioTROIKA is both thankful and proud of the partnerships that we have developed over the past years with residential clients and commercial business owners and look forward to new relationships in the future.

For this bath house concept, an anteroom acts an important bridge from the exterior bustle of the city. The cafe and lounge welcomes all visitors, and allows those of whom are embarking on a deeper journey to have a moment of arrival prior to seeking out their path to the the thermal zone, or offers a soft place to land before continuing onward with their day. The natural materials and ambient light establish a sense of comfort before and after a wellness experience that may be entirely new to some. 3/3 #thermalbaths #architecture #design #sauna #cafedesign

A key component of this thermal baths concept is the act of cleansing prior to entry. The space in which changing and showering is an integral step in the wellness experience, as it prepares you for the upcoming physical and mental journey. We thought of this space as gently guiding the users forward with light and materiality. While on the way out, the same space flips the materiality of the slats to imply the intended change of outlook as they prepare to engage in the rest of their day. #thermalbaths #architecture #design #sauna
-
Inspired by the culture and rituals of Japanese and Nordic bathhouses, this conceptual design for a thermal experience offers a place to refresh your body and reframe your mind. The thermal zone is dynamic, playing with materiality, light, shadow, and reflection to inspire exploration. A cloister of respite surrounds this zone and allows for a period of introspection.

Studio Troika developed a vision for compelling and flexible amenity spaces in the newest building at Boynton Yards in Somerville, featuring a tapas restaurant concept in collaboration with a local restaurateur. The design takes cues from oblique angles that characterize the building architecture and integrates opportunities for local art to create spaces that are unique to its location and community. #design // #amenityspace // #restaurant // #architecture

A new endodontics practice and oral surgery practice housed under the same roof presents a unique opportunity to design a shared reception, waiting lounge, and education experience. The dual-sided reception desk sets up symmetrical entries that reveal two different architectural tones in each corridor, giving the two practices their own identity while characteristically tying back to unified features of the public space. Stay tuned as this design progresses into reality! SurfCT Illuminate Pete Cruz #design // #dentist // #architecture //#interiors // #renovation

What was once a dull, concrete building is now an inviting headquarters for Webster Five in Auburn, MA. This transformation was a cohesive one from the inside out. The facades are clad in natural Kebony wood and slate tiles for a clean, yet timeless look. On the interior, we uncovered the original timber framing, to bring back the warmth and beauty of what the space once was. This allowed us to design a comfortable space filled with light, color and elements inspired by the surrounding nature. The entire building now serves Webster Five as a welcoming, collaborative, and active space with one goal in mind - servicing their customers, with happy employees. #design // #transformation // #renovation // #architecture
