As we close out #NationalHomeownershipMonth, we want to highlight our unique partnership with Habitat for Humanity, a community organization that allows homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Multiple independent relationships have grown between our banking and mortgage teams and their local Habitat for Humanity locations. These include providing banking services as well as creating a custom loan product for homeowners, sponsorship donations and participating in volunteer activities. We're proud to share some of these efforts in a Community Impact Story on our website: https://trst.in/RzIdLX

In honor of #NationalLogisticsDay, a day that recognizes logistics professionals’ work to ensure goods are delivered quickly, efficiently and safely, we’re pleased to provide an update on our client, Interload Forwarding LLC. Interload Forwarding, run by Richard Ibarra and family, is based in El Paso, TX and provides logistics services including local and long-haul transportation, warehousing, and brokerage of loads. The Ibarra family has grown their business significantly since first becoming a Sunflower Bank client through an SBA 504 loan for a new warehouse in 2016. Today, construction is underway for a new 178,915 sq. ft. industrial building that will sit across from the original warehouse. The conventional commercial construction financing closed in February 2024, and when the building is complete it will create at least 31 new jobs and have a positive impact on the community. Congratulations to Lauren Thill, Commercial Loan Administrator II, Kansas, on her retirement after six years with Sunflower Bank! During her time with Sunflower Bank, Laureen has shown compassion and dedication to the bank and our customers, allowing her to make a difference for both. Laureen has been an essential part of the Kansas Commercial Lending team since she joined the bank. While she will be greatly missed, we are excited that she will now enjoy more well-deserved time with her family and friends.
