I'll cop to the fact that I always go hunting through posts like this to see if any of the ads I worked on made it in. So it's fun to see #48 on the list. I wouldn't say it's one of the 55 best Apple Ads ever. But I like it, nonetheless. Since the ad was about how the new PowerBook ran UNIX, and was targeted at coders, I thought it would be fun to use code in the headline. So I headed down to the IT room at Chiat\Day and asked, "hey, is there a way I can use UNIX code in a headline for Apple? Like an inside joke for coders or something?" "You mean like, it sends other computers to /dev/null (the trash)? "Um, yes... Exactly like that." I can't remember your name, but if this post makes its way to you, let me know so I can tag you :) As I recall this ad sailed through the presentation with Steve much easier than most ads. A quick chuckle, and "Oh, that's great," and it was in production.
