Big day! The shoot of the #StreamzOriginal and first Streamz Academy winner The Best Immigrant started today! The ensemble cast of The Best Immigrant includes actors such as Jennifer Heylen, Saïd Boumazoughe, Greg Timmermans, Louis Talpe, Charlotte Timmers, Ruth Becquart, Bert Haelvoet and Marjan De Schutter. But also a lot of emerging and young talent such as Noa Tambwe Kabati, Tama Theophore Kabeya, Lauren De Bie, Laura De Geest, Noah Mavuela and Evelyne Chen are part of the cast! The story? In the series we follow the couple Muna and Jamal. When the new far-right government of Belgium decides to send all people who were not born here back to their country of origin, the couple decides to risk everything by participating in “The Best Immigrant”, a ruthless game show with the main prize… a residence permit. The series is based on an idea of up and coming screenwriters and Streamz Academy winners Cristina Poppe and Raoul Groothuizen and was written together with Michel Sabbe ('Styx'), Hasse Steenssens ('Geldwolven') and Michael De Cock ('Geldwolven'). Last but not least, Adil El Arbi and Billal Fallah are working on the series as executive producers with Michael Abay as the director!
