A force united by a promise to end breast cancer, funding groundbreaking research, community health & advocacy programs.

About us

In 1980, Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan, that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. Two years later, that promise became the Susan G. Komen® organization and the beginning of a global movement. For over 40 years, we've led the way funding groundbreaking research, community health initiatives and advocacy programs in local communities across the U.S. and in more than 30 countries. And with your help, we’ll continue pushing for progress to end breast cancer every day, until it’s a thing of the past. Komen is so grateful for Tanya Tucker's continued contributions to the fight against breast cancer. Last year alone, the Grammy-winning country music singer-songwriter raised over $30,000 for breast cancer research and patient services, headlining the annual Kiss Breast Cancer Goodbye Concert in 2023. “Tanya Tucker not only captivates audiences with her extraordinary star power and compassion on stage, but she has also used her talents and platform to raise awareness for those affected by breast cancer,” said Paula Schneider, president and CEO of Komen. In recognition of her commitment, Komen awarded Tanya Tucker with the 2024 Promise Award at a concert on Aug. 24 in Nashville. We deeply value our 3-Day community and everything it represents—strength, support, and inclusiveness. It's been brought to our attention that the originally planned dates for the 2025 Denver 3-Day event fall the week of Yom Kippur, a sacred time for many within our community. As a community that prioritizes inclusiveness and responsiveness, we apologize for this oversight in our planning process and will be adjusting the event dates. We understand the importance of making the 3-Day experience accessible to everyone, and we’re committed to ensuring that no one is excluded from participating in this meaningful journey. Please stay tuned for the announcement of the new dates, and thank you for your understanding and continued dedication to our shared mission. Together, we can make a difference.
