About us
Sustainable Surf uses the power of surf culture to inspire actions that protect ocean health and reverse climate change. Our global programs like SeaTrees and the ECOBOARD Project, provide direct and measurable ways for brands and individuals to have a positive impact. Our Vision: We believe the ocean has the superpower to reverse climate change, but we need to help by protecting and restoring blue carbon ecosystems. There's no time to waste – the global scientific consensus is clear that we have the next 10 years to reduce our collective carbon footprint.

Sustainable Textiles Consultant | Materials Innovation | UN Ocean Decade Endorsed Experiential Learning
The programming for our annual Materevolve Textile X Ocean Connector Sails is based on important themes and questions that our invited experts help answer. This year's programming includes two Expert Speaker Tastings Sessions and research demos, all supported by leaders at the intersection of textiles and oceans. Our first session includes three speakers: (1) Haley Jain Haggerstone, Partnerships Director at SeaTrees, speaking to "How can businesses be a driving force in restoring blue carbon ecosystems to address climate change?" (2) Anna Bateman, Senior Stakeholder Ambassador at The Microfibre Consortium speaking to "How do we move fiber fragmentation (aka microfiber pollution) away from a ‘niche’ part of sustainability strategies to an integral and more intrinsically connected topic?" (3) Carolynn Box (cbox), Materevolve Textile X Ocean Connector Sail Co-founder, speaking to "How can local, statewide and federal policy play a role in driving solutions to microfiber pollution?" Participants will have the opportunity to speak with all included experts and interact with other participants in discussions around the leading questions related to textile derived pollution (i.e. microfiber pollution), climate change, waste, green chemistry, ocean-thoughtful material alternatives, and more. Please look through the programming described on our website and come with questions for our speakers! Thank you to SeaTrees for the beautiful photograph of kelp. Thank you Paige Green for the photos of Carolynn Box from our past Textile X Ocean Connector Sails. #textilexoceanconnectorsail #microfiberpollution #bluematerialworld

Great waves & wine were both on tap for Waterman’s Weekend — thanks to our pals at Surf Industry Members Association (SIMA) & Head High Wines 🌊🍷 Slide through our reel for a taste of the Waterman’s Gala last Saturday , where new brands ( like SeaTrees partner Florence Marine X and established names of the surfing world came together to help raise funds for giving back to the ocean. Stoked to see Head High Wines ( our 1st Ocean+Positive winery partner ) step up to become the official wine sponsor of the event — and happy to share a table with our SeaTrees planting pals Bill Price and Zane Kekoa Schweitzer. Big love to both of these guys for their contributions to helping us protect and restore our Ocean Planet. And big congrats to Waterman of the Year award winner Nathan Florence 🙌 ~ Specific photos courtesy of Surf Industry Members Association (SIMA)

I'm proud to have had a supporting role in this beautiful project spearheaded by Michael Stewart & SeaTrees that was brilliantly brought to life by Zenith Adventure Media. With only 4 days to shoot, lots of ground to cover, and a shoestring budget, I'm deeply impressed by what they (Ben & Andrees of Zenith) were able to pull off. Huge kudos thank you to everyone involved, especially Minerva and all of the Mujeres de El Datil and the incredible team from WILDCOAST. Please take a few moments to enjoy this film, and others by SeaTrees, and consider making them an impact partner for your business. https://lnkd.in/gS6vMAX8

If the ocean dies, we all die. Captain Paul Watson, the infamous ocean & anti-whaling activist and founder of Sea Shepherd, faces up to 15 years in a Japanese prison. Arrested on international charges of assault and ship trespass, Watson's legacy in marine conservation stands in stark contrast to his current battle. 🐋⚖️ Watson has stood for the oceans for decades, and now he needs us to stand up for him. Time is running out. Saves our seas by saving those who protect them. Petition to free him, link below https://lnkd.in/dkyjwCYw #SaveOurSeas #FreePaulWatson #SeaShepherd #MarineConservation #AntiWhaling Image credits without text: @sebastiansurfs on IG
