Supporting communities worldwide threatened by climate change by building environmental/economic/social resiliency.
About us
ISC is an international, non-profit organization that works to support communities by creating, implementing, and scaling equitable climate change solutions for communities at the frontline of the global climate crisis. Our unique, bottom-up approach ensures solutions emerge from within communities, rather than being imposed from the outside. By sharing international best practices and experiences, providing technical expertise and training, and building the capacity of local organizations, we support innovative solutions and sustainable change. We address the root causes of climate change impacts by building community knowledge and skills, strengthening governance, and diversifying the field of sustainability professionals. Our approach incorporates capacity building, technical assistance delivery, knowledge products, climate change action planning, and peer learning.

You may be aware of the devastating effects of #climatechange on public health, but researchers at Duke University are examining the intersection of climate change, radon exposure, and lung cancer. Radon is a dangerous gas found in rocks and soil and released during extreme temperature and precipitation—conditions which are more frequently present from climate disasters like extreme heat and storms. Sadly, radon is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers in the United States. Read more at https://bit.ly/3XtPy7X #radon #lungcancer #extremeheat #health
