BREAKING! New research highlights that Asparagopsis taxiformis is 40% more effective at reducing enteric methane emissions in livestock compared to synthetic bromoform alone, further solidifying SeaGraze® as a uniquely differentiated, nature-based solution. This breakthrough underscores the immense potential of harnessing natural bioactive compounds for sustainable agriculture and methane mitigation. At Symbrosia, we're excited to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation and deliver impactful solutions that prioritize both the planet and the future of livestock production. 🌱 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gMx85Aca #MethaneReduction #NatureBasedSolutions #SustainableAgriculture #AsparagopsisTaxiformis

Huge Congratulations to Annika Johnson and Lois Taylor! 🌟 We're thrilled to announce that Annika Johnson and Lois Taylor, our dedicated Symbrosians, have achieved a major milestone with their first peer-reviewed publication! 🤩 Their insightful survey of 495 participants across the United States reveals that product-informed consumers are willing to pay up to 72.3% more for low-emission milk and 8.6% more for low-emission beef. This groundbreaking research highlights the growing demand for sustainable and environmentally friendly food products. Check out the full article below, and please join us in congratulating Annika and Lois on this outstanding accomplishment! 👏👏👏 https://lnkd.in/gpay7Wgv #Symbrosia #Research #Sustainability #LowEmissions #GreenTech #Congratulations

Congratulations to Symbrosia Youth Climate Advisor, Navahine, for a landmark youth-led climate settlement! 💚 The world’s first youth-led constitutional climate case seeking to address climate pollution from the transportation sector was settled with a commitment from the Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation to plan and implement transformative changes of the state’s transportation system to achieve net-negative emissions by 2045. The youth plaintiffs (ages 9 to 18) claim that their state's active operation of a transportation system that results in high levels of greenhouse gas emissions is causing significant harm to their communities, violates their constitutional rights, and undermines their ability to “live healthful lives in Hawaiʻi now and into the future.” Learn more about the case here: http://bit.ly/4cvxFdD Learn more about our Youth Climate Advisory Board: https://symbrosia.co/team

It was wonderful to reconnect with many familiar faces this week at the 2024 American Dairy Science Association (ADSA) Annual Meeting. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be part of this community and to learn of the innovative work being done by my peers in dairy science. 🐮 I presented a poster of my recent research results on the effects of supplementation of Asparagopsis taxiformis in certified-organic Holstein and crossbred dairy cattle. This poster focused on the effects of supplementation on the halogenic compounds in milk, urine, and feces. This research was made possible thanks to the support of the University of Minnesota, Symbrosia and Organic Valley. I have greatly appreciated the support of C-Lock Inc. as we collect gas emissions using the GreenFeed pasture-based system. I am especially thankful for Dr. Brad Heins, Dr. Isaac Salfer, Elizabeth Bell, Mallory Honan, and Kirsten Sharpe for their exceptional dedication to this project. 🐮 Additionally, I had the chance to compete in ADSA's first ever #SciencingChallenge alongside Kathryn Bosley and Bianca G. Costa. Much thanks to Evonik and RP Nutrients for providing this event- it was a fun challenge, and a fantastic opportunity to learn about the creativity and ingenuity of our peers.
