    ICYMI: Google is reversing its course on deprecating third-party cookies in exchange for giving users greater data privacy controls via its own technology called Privacy Sandbox. Why does this matter to TA teams? Our AdTech guru Michael Drayer shares his point of view below: “Google's multi-year-long effort to evolve beyond cookies to now shifting the decision to users rather than deprecating third-party cookies in Chrome outright is good for our industry, as it will allow users to make informed choices about whether to allow cookies, with the option to disallow them at any point. Despite Google's apparent reversal of stance, we remain steadfast in our recommendation that TA teams leverage first-party data as a key component of a comprehensive talent marketing strategy, in addition to user-accepted cookie data. First- and zero-party data are inherently the most valuable because it is owned by you, authentic, and typically willingly provided by the user. This approach is crucial in light of Google's cookie news, ensuring you have reliable, consented data to drive your recruitment efforts. Collecting first-party data has never been solely about future compliance with Chrome. It's been about leveraging this data to personalize and humanize an organization’s approach to recruitment marketing, and that remains true today.” Symphony Talent clients are encouraged to reach out to their Client Success Manager or Account Rep with any questions.
