Our country’s healthcare trends are heading in difficult directions. - Rural hospitals are closing regularly and many more (30%!) are on track to close. - Physicians are leaving the workforce at record rates (1 in 5 plans to leave within 5 years). - And young physicians entering the workforce are already choosing roles with less clinical work. These trends are not sustainable. Access is already suboptimal and is on track to worsen. But whenever there is a problem, there is an opportunity: providing care for our country will require novel delivery systems. Expansion of existing healthcare infrastructure into rural communities, utilizing telehealth and careful integration of advanced practice providers mitigates this problem. Systematic expansion warrants careful, specialized protocols created and led by physicians. This is what we do at Syncoro Health. Our team has a proven track record of successful collaboration between physicians and healthcare organizations, as demonstrated in the NEJM Catalyst [https://lnkd.in/guQKvanM] Healthcare Initiative 2025 Greg Abbott Brian Kemp Gavin Newsom Ron DeSantis State of North Carolina Michelle Lujan Grisham Glenn Youngkin State of Texas State of Kentucky State of Georgia State of Florida State of Tennessee State of Nevada State of Louisiana State of West Virginia State of New Mexico Commonwealth of Virginia AdventHealth Adventist Health Ballad Health Baylor Scott & White Health CHRISTUS Health Community Health Systems CHC Piedmont HealthCare Tenet Healthcare Texas Health Resources HCA Healthcare Ascension Michael Leavitt Elisa Wrede Kari Armijo New Mexico Health Care Authority Andrew Fishman Samardeep Gupta Matthew LaPorta Joshua Lenchus, DO, RPh, FACP, SFHM Ugochi Okoroafor-Ridgway, MD

An excellent document developed by physicians using valid and reliable data. I strongly recommend healthcare executives whether physicians or non physicians to review Mirror Mirror 2024...
The United States has excellent healthcare: novel therapies, cutting edge technology, clinical trials, amongst other advancements. Yet despite these advancements, we rank last amongst other developed countries with regards to access. Access to care should not be this difficult! I have hope that we can improve access by expanding healthcare into rural areas where patients live, improving the catchment areas of hospitals and improving their bottom line. Our team has a proven track record of successful collaboration between physicians and healthcare organizations, as demonstrated in the NEJM Catalyst. What if we could improve patient access utilizing our existing care teams? Our Syncoro Health team orchestrates care expansion into rural communities; here is how it works: 1. Patient referred for specialty services 2. A specialist sees patient virtually from their usual office 3. A medical assistant / nurse / advanced practice provider in a remote location telepresent patient to specialist 4. Communication up kept throughout The key to delivering this care is the relationships with and endorsement from existing physicians - they are the ones who control healthcare. Our team has a proven track record of successful collaboration between physicians and healthcare organizations, as demonstrated in the NEJM Catalyst. Let’s share care delivery to help our people. We are better together! Syncoro Health - Healthcare Initiative 2025
What if we could improve patient access and outcomes? Given the growing physician shortage and rise in healthcare demand, collaboration between physicians and healthcare organizations will be critical to providing care for our people. Expanding existing infrastructure into untapped markets solves much of this problem; as shown here, extending Patient Origin to Destination Sites, or “PODS” into rural communities improves access. And when access improves, outcomes improve. The key to delivering this care is the relationships with and endorsement from existing physicians - they are the ones who control healthcare. Our previous work in healthcare expansion showed a decrease in hospitalization and ED utilization by 67% - confirming that when access to care improves, outcomes improve! Our team has a proven track record of successful collaboration between physicians and healthcare organizations, as demonstrated in the NEJM Catalyst.
