SZ PM Consultants, Inc. is an enginereing consulting firm with offices in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. We provide project and program management, construction management, design support and services during construction, permitting suppot, and water and wastewater engineering consulting services. Our experienced staff has hands-on knowledge of the water and wastewater industry, which enables us to provide cost effective and practical solutions to its clients. We are well-known for our permitting support services in the DC Metro area and have processed over 1,800 District Department of Transportation (DDOT) public space permit applications for two mega projects, the 2.6 billion dollar DC Clean Rivers CSO Tunnel Program and the 250 million dollar CSX Virginia Avenue Tunnel Project.

We want to welcome Ahmad Al-Ghazzawi to the SZPM team. Mr. Alghazzawi is joining us as a Construction Contract Administrator for the DC Water Lead Free DC Program Management Contract. He will collaborate and liaise between the project and contractor teams to deliver technical support, construction knowledge, and practices for the project’s success. He will ensure that the project is constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and with good construction practices. His responsibilities include reviewing and approving submittals for compliance to the contract documents and specifications. #growing #smallbusiness

Our Mike Jelen serves on the DC Board of Professional Engineering and represented at the NCEES annual meeting in Chicago.
Thankful to have been part of the DC delegation at the NCEES Annual Meeting. Founded in 1920, this organization pioneered licensing engineers for public welfare and safety. Today, it unifies state boards nationwide. Despite the pandemic, the centennial meeting planned for Chicago in 2020, was a success in 2024. In Chicago, NCEES signed an agreement with the UK Engineering Council, facilitating cross-country engineering practice. A resolution was also passed to potentially enable ABET engineering technology graduates to obtain licensure nationally. Historically, HBCUs played a crucial role in engineering education for African Americans. Progress was slow, but finally, Black engineers gained professional recognition through accreditation. While strides have been made, challenges persist in providing licensure pathways for ETAC graduates in some states and the District of Columbia. Optimistic about the resolution's impact, I believe NCEES is moving in the right direction to address this disparity.

We would like to welcome Antoinette Ford to the SZPM team. She has more than 20 years of project management, construction management, architecture, and design experience on health care, commercial, office, and other large building projects ranging up to $250 million in value. She brings expertise in supporting long-term healthcare facility goals, including construction management for new construction and renovation of occupied healthcare facilities and commercial projects throughout the US, South America, and Asia. Antoinette is joining us to serve as Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA)’s Railcar Simulator Project Manager. We are excited to have her come aboard.
