Arigatou gozaimasu, Tokyo! The Illinois delegation had a packed and productive week in Japan. 🗾🎌 A great opportunity to be at the table with influential leaders at the Clean Energy roundtable organized by Gil C. Quiniones ComEd, Norman L. Tweeboom Bloomberg and Tepco-Group! These cross-industry collaborations are vital we work to make the energy discussion front and center in every conversation today as we look at a $1.7trillion investment in the global energy transition. I want to express my gratitude to Governor JB Pritzker, Senate President Don Harmon, Speaker of the House Emanuel “Chris” Welch Senator Bill Cunningham, Rep. Robyn Gabel — I thoroughly enjoyed our discussions and time together—it's clear that they are committed to a unified vision for Illinois, which is essential for our state's prosperity. #TeamIllinois Christy George Paulina San Millan had the opportunity to present to Japanese business leaders at J-Bridge, hosted by @JETRO - Japan External Trade Organization. My time with these three rockstars Preeti Chalsani Intersect Illinois Josh Richman PsiQuantum and Harley Johnson University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign was incredibly valuable. We discussed their well-articulated plans as Illinois leads in developing a thriving quantum tech economy and positions itself as a global business destination in information technology. From logistics to infrastructure and workforce programs, Illinois is pioneering contributions backed by decades of research. We are ready to tackle large-scale challenges across various sectors, including pharma, energy, finance, fraud detection, and security. Their combined efforts are bringing major industries together and providing the necessary infrastructure to scale up. Users and businesses can co-locate to take advantage of a massive shared cryogenic facility and a center for software and algorithms designed to attract theorists and scientists. Additionally, Regina Bynote Jones ADM highlighted Illinois' strengths in food tech and bioprocessing, showcasing our world-class talent, robust infrastructure, and abundance of natural resources. It is expected that converting materials and bio-manufacturing will yield over $200 billion in economic impact by 2030, as we feed a growing world, advance technology, and build a next-generation manufacturing base at scale. We capped off our day with a spectacular dinner at the embassy residence; the pictures speak for themselves. #TeamIllinois is deeply appreciative of the warm and generous hospitality in Japan and for this unique opportunity to showcase why global companies should #BeInIllinois.
