🎉 We are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the Tahoe50 Giving Club! ⛷ During this time, TTCF and our partners have attracted millions of dollars to the Tahoe Truckee region. We are so very grateful and pleased to share the many, many ways our partners each #GiveBackTahoe in this series of Tahoe50 Partner Highlight posts. In every town and city, the business community plays a significant role in contributing to its social fabric– be it to the entrepreneurial community, nonprofits, education, or civic engagement. In a small rural region like ours, the business community is also naturally smaller. This means that each business is called upon to an even greater extent than its peers in more populated areas. People and organizations are not nameless or faceless, we are deeply integrated into one another's lives. Our local businesses receive an immense number of asks and obviously cannot say yes to every one of them. As we interviewed our Tahoe50 Giving Club partners, it struck us how committed and clear each one is in their philanthropic strategies. And how these strategies are rooted in the values of their business. Tahoe Donner Association, our first partner highlight, is a perfect example. When asked about their philosophy of long-term community impact, Lindsay Hogan, Director of Communications and Member Relations, told us, "Building a strong community is at the core of Tahoe Donner. We all play a role in that mission. A series of small actions becomes momentum, and that momentum turns into results. Long-term, families are going to be stronger and youth will have more opportunities based on the support and programs that we can help provide for them today." Tahoe Donner itself has been around for more than 50 years. During that time, it has donated funds, lift tickets, event space, and facility space to nonprofits, and youth organizations. In 2014, it launched its philanthropic arm the Tahoe Donner Giving Fund (TDGF). TDGF raises money from homeowners and, every year, awards $250k in youth scholarships and $50k in nonprofit grants. We are proud to partner with Tahoe Donner on both Tahoe50 and the Tahoe Donner Giving Fund. So what is the Tahoe50 Giving Club? It blends high-impact philanthropy and exclusive all-season experiences with 12 resort, adventure, and luxury partners. Giving Club donors receive two fully-transferrable passes to all of our local ski resorts, plus additional perks with partners like Tahoe Mountain Club, Alpenglow Expeditions, and Tahoe XC. These businesses are at the center of our mountain community - driving the economy, providing jobs, and giving back. Since 2014, they have come together to offer Tahoe50 donors distinctive mountain experiences and donate 100% of the proceeds to support Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation's initiatives. Our partners are an integral part of local and regional housing projects and are deeply committed to our Forests Futures campaign as well.
