We may have a new look, but the mission and vision remain the same! Allow us to reintroduce ourselves! Teaching for Change provides teachers and parents with the tools to create schools where students learn to read, write, and change the world. By drawing direct connections to real world issues, Teaching for Change encourages teachers and students to question and re-think the world inside and outside their classrooms; build a more equitable, multicultural society; and become active global citizens. Our professional development, publications, and parent organizing resources serve teachers, other school staff, and parents. #TeachingforChange #SocialJusticeintheClassroom #SocialJustice #SocialJusticeTeaching #teachers #educators #education

Teaching for Change reposted this
I had an amazing time in D.C. yesterday with Teaching for Change at the National Museum of the American Indian. I attended a teaching workshop for Indigenous curriculum where I was able to further my knowledge about how to teach more complete narratives of our nation's history that include Indigenous perspectives.

Did you know that today is #NationalNonprofitDay? A perfect opportunity to give to one of your favorite nonprofits! Friends like Erika and Jim know education is the best way to secure a more just future. Please join them by supporting Teaching for Change. Our goal for the next five years is to expand the reach of our work into 10,000 schools. Expanding our reach to 10,000 schools can enable young people to address the climate crisis, militarism, immigration, poverty, incarceration, and other injustices. The staff and board of Teaching for Change share deep gratitude for the deeply impactful, creative, and dedicated work Keesha has done as associate (now deputy) director for the past three years. We look forward to our 4th year together -- with Keesha's leadership on our 35th anniversary celebration.
:: What a Wonderful 3 years It Has Been! :: Yesterday, (1.25) we celebrated my three year #workiversary with Teaching for Change. 3️⃣ It's been a grand three years! I have been blessed to be a part of this dynamic organization and among vibrant, bold, humans seeking a more just community, starting in our schools! ✊🏽 3️⃣ In true Keesha fashion, I'll share what I have learned and what I am looking forward to. 1. I have learned that even in the midst of witnessing global and local atrocities, we remain steady to what has served us for more than 35 years, that we will always share resources and use our voice to examine issues of power and human rights. 2. I have learned and loved how deep and inspiring our team (staff and board) and community is. Every day that I get to speak to, work alongside, and serve these humans, it inspires me in this good, hard, heart work. 3. I look forward to 2024! We get to celebrate THIRTY-FIVE years of Teaching for Change 🎉. I'm looking forward to strengthening our efforts, amplifying our contributions, and celebrating all that we have accomplished and will continue to! Here is to the first day of year FOUR! Today, 1.26 I honor a human who inspired many in his ethic and mentality to learn and be great at a craft with his #mambamentality. #HappyWorkiversary

Join us in congratulating Nakeesha "Keesha" J. Ceran (She/Hers) for her promotion to deputy director of Teaching for Change. This is in recognition of Keesha's contributions to Teaching for Change and her expanded responsibilities during her tenure with the organization.
