We are thrilled to congratulate GBBN Architects and our incredible development team on receiving the 2024 AIA Design Award for newly completed buildings! A tremendous amount of time, energy, and talent went into creating this best-in-class speculative office & research facility, which now serves as a cornerstone of the Cincinnati Innovation District. Exciting progress at the Emery Theater for The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati! While preserving the theater’s historic elements, we faced a challenge with the steep slope of the main orchestra floor, which was not up to code. Our design team (GBBN Architects & Apeiro Design) resolved this by re-grading the floor and adjusting the stage elevation, maintaining the original sightlines while adding more trap room. This update also aligns the stage with the street level, making it easier to load stage sets in and out. Terrex Construction has completed the new floor framing, and we’re preparing to pour the new floors, which will match the original box configurations and orchestra layout. #TCTattheEmery #historicrenovation #urbanrenewal

Good luck to our summer intern, Gabi Nelson, as she returns to school next week. Gabi is working on her bachelors degree in Construction Engineering Technology and Management at Lawrence Tech University in Southfield, Michigan. Gabi is also the star goalkeeper and a captain on the LTU Women's Soccer team where she has won national defensive player awards and selected to the NAIA Academic All-District Team. We look forward to having you back next summer!

The historic renovation of the Emery Theater for The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati is such an amazing project. Our team has been excavating underneath the stage and the lower level back of house areas. We just finished pouring the concrete foundations and walls for the new massive stage lift system.
