The Texas Media and Analytics (TM&A) program offers students an incredible opportunity to kickstart their careers! Through certificates and hands-on experiences, TM&A provides students with technical, professional, and soft skills. Students earn certificates in Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Amazon Ads, which equip them with credibility and practical skills in marketing, advertising, and data analytics. They will also be exposed to hands-on experience with Tableau, A/B testing, media buying, and test and control incrementality. These are just some of the many skills that TM&A provides that employers love to see, in addition to the impressive portfolio our students build. The best part of joining Texas Media & Analytics? Completing courses that some employers have said equates to 1-2 years of professional experience before you graduate! Students can obtain real-world experience by developing a strategy for an industry partner during the semester. TM&A isn’t just a program; it’s an incredible way to hit the ground running on day 1 of employment! We pride ourselves on developing a new generation of scientific artists who investigate and innovate with our program. Click on the link below to learn more about TM&A! https://lnkd.in/gggSi5fU

The second of the two courses in the second half of the TM&A program is ADV377 Media Investments taught by Tracy Arrington. "In Media Investments we bring "theory x practice" to life, exploring the roles of strategic video, audio, out-of-home, print, digital, experiential and social investments, their mechanics and unique contributions to consumer experience (CX) and brand success. In addition to content supporting the art of negotiation and productive business relationships, the course prepares students to leverage AdTech, MarTech and AIML to drive success for brands, agencies, vendors and technologists alike." 🤘 - Professor Tracy Arrington For more information about courses, check out how to get involved: https://lnkd.in/gi-BAMdD #TexasMediaandAnalytics #TMandA #UTAdvertising #TXADPR

TM&A is an application-based sequence of elective courses that allows students to specialize in Media, Strategy, and Analytics. For our Spring cohort, applications open the week of Thanksgiving and are due the last week of classes. To join TM&A, students must have completed 345J with a final grade of B- or higher. Application decisions are sent out during the Winter Break so that students can register for their first class of the sequence, Digital Metrics, during the add/drop period. The application requires students to provide the following: 🤘 A current resume. 🤘 A short video (less than 2 minutes) answering the question: "What inspires me about strategic media and analytic thinking." 🤘 In 250 words or less, please describe why admission into the Texas Media & Analytics sequence would help you meet your academic and career goals. If you are interested in this program, we highly encourage you to submit an application. Your unique skills and experiences could make a valuable contribution to the TM&A community!

In the Forbes article, The Top 10 Most In-Demand Skills For The Next 10 Years, written by Bernard Marr, Marr details the most desirable skills for hiring in this decade. Texas Media & Analytics focuses on teaching the key skills discussed. Here's what students have to say about skills they’ve taken with them, learned through TM&A, based on Marr’s list! Digital Literacy “They really emphasize experiential learning, which has helped me learn so much about brand strategy and digital analytics. I can’t wait to use the skills and lessons I’ve learned from TM&A in my post-grad career!” – Sarah Winch Data Literacy “I have enjoyed diving deeper into data and learning about how to use various metrics to derive insights from data.” – Mikayla Francisco Critical Thinking “My favorite memory with TM&A was going to Waco to compete in the National Digital Marketing Competition. I gained great experiential learning experience through the pitch competition.” – Amari Alford Emotional Intelligence “I have loved getting to be with a cohort of people who are driven and interested in the same subject! The people in TM&A are brilliant, and I have enjoyed getting to learn from my peers.” – Ava Autenreith Creativity “From strategy to creative, The Advanced Media Strategies gave a holistic and practical approach to preparing students for successful careers in the advertising industry, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and connections needed to thrive in this dynamic field.” – Destiny Reyes Collaboration “In the campaigns class and digital metrics, working in groups of individuals with unique areas of specialization was such an interesting experience. I was able to learn so much from the other members of my cohort and be inspired by all the unique experiences and knowledge they held.” – Priscilla Le Flexibility “TM & A has been the challenge I craved in my degree. I have worked on projects that have challenged me, met fantastic team members, and learned invaluable skills.” – Megan Benz Leadership Skills “I enjoyed learning about programs like Tableau and Google Analytics to build our resume and experiences.” – Kiely Francis Time Management “My favorite academic memory is from the TM&A advanced campaign strategies class when we presented to Proctor & Gamble.
