Meet William Alfaro, the Team Manager for the South Region in the Regional Water Project Development Division at the Texas Water Development Board. His team aids in the implementation of projects that address water, wastewater, and flood mitigation issues in communities. His team works on a wide variety of projects, ranging from first-time services to rehabilitation or the expansion of existing systems, as well as addressing flood control and water conservation. William's focus is working closely with small communities that are striving to meet the minimum standards for drinking water and wastewater. William has spent more than a decade dedicated to economic development, water infrastructure, and environmental assessment projects in Guatemala. After moving to Texas, he was eager to find a role that allowed him to continue making a meaningful impact on communities. Fortunately, after learning about the TWDB, he knew it would be a great fit because the agency does so much for the sustainable economic development of the state, and nothing is more important for communities than a reliable water supply. As our demand for water grows, he appreciates the opportunity to contribute to securing this vital resource and driving sustainable economic development in the state. #FacesofTWDB #TxWater #TWDB #SouthRegion
