Wow. We're feeling a little overwhelmed (in a good way!) by the incredible night we had with 460 of you in the New England marketing community, at the 63rd Hatch Awards. Thank you to everyone who joined -- some from all over the country -- to celebrate each other and honor some legends in our industry. First there was the first ever Jack Connors Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by icon Mike Sheehan to recipient Lance Jensen. Later, the In-House Agency Award was presented by Rachel Houk Seeger of BCBS of MA to MassMutual's 258 Creative Group. And the coveted Best of Show went to GYK for their work with Sallie Mae. In between another 95 gold, silver and bronze awards were presented to some incredible agencies and brands. And the night was full of merriment, networking and reunions at the pre and post party! What a night! We hope you all enjoyed yourselves and can't wait to see you again next year. Thanks to our Hatch Committee Mark Bappe, Vanessa Thomas, Spencer Deadrick, Julie Granahan-Heger, Nick Bontaites, Chris Jennings, Travis Robertson, Michael Pilato, Emily Nollet and Amanda Roberts

So glad to have you present for us Rachel Houk Seeger. Your energy is infectious! And of course congrats to the team at MassMutual's in-house agency 258° Creative Group 👏
Drumroll please… #InHouseAgency Of The Year goes to MassMutual Congrats Spencer Deadrick and the entire team. You all rocked it this year. Thank you so much to The Ad Club Barbara Reilly for such a fun night with so many friends. And for giving me the honor of presenting 258* with this prestigious award. 🥇🙏💙

Last week, in partnership with The Grist and Morgan Stanley, The Ad Club hosted our latest installment of CMO / Executive Dinners @ View Boston. More than 25 of the brightest minds in marketing turned out for a first-of-its-kind presentation by Ted Schlueter, Trevor Byrne, CFP® and Michael Welts of Wasabi Technologies on creating game-changing value for their companies and life-changing value for themselves. Membership has its perks! Big thanks to Ted, Trevor and Michael for the engaging discussion, all the CMO's who joined and shared their insight and Tyavanna Skane for helping bring this to life! Personal bonus was getting to hear some insights into the Wasabi x Liverpool FC partnership!

Eric Freedman, I concur. What a great event. I was also so happy to reconnect with so many familiar faces and ex-colleagues from all points of my career. Ted Schlueter, what a great gift you gave us all on your special day! #CMOseries #ViewBoston The Ad Club Wasabi Technologies Morgan Stanley Barbara Reilly Josh Boyle
As marketers, brand architects and stewards of innovation, it's critically important to switch up your vantage point. Had a fantastic night with some of the region's most talented CMO's and The Ad Club getting a unique perspective on... 1. Branding for Buyout. Ted Schlueter (CEO/Founder of The Grist ), Trevor Byrne, CFP® (Morgan Stanley) and Michael Welts (CMO, Wasabi Technologies) had a spirited discussion about our role as marketers in unlocking exponential value via pre-exit branding as a multiplier. Both for the company and ourselves as marketers. Looking forward to diving into Ted's book. https://lnkd.in/e7-GV9cg 2. My Hometown from 750ft Above at the Top of the Pru - The View Boston didn't disappoint. Sometimes I need a little reminder of how beautiful and full of life and character this city is. Thank you Josh Boyle and Barbara Reilly for pulling together a great program.

It's not enough for audiences to just understand our campaigns, we want them to be engaged, compelled, and motivated. That’s especially true when we’re talking about campaigns that aim to change hearts and minds about health, safety, and wellness. On #worldmentalhealth day, we want to support mental health for everyone in all cultures. This is why for our "Be the Strong Unsilent Type" campaign with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health we focused on transcreation (not translations) for our Spanish and Asian-language audiences (Chinese and Vietnamese). Because when you are talking about important concepts like mental health, nuance matters. Just because a word or phrase hits home with one audience, doesn't mean the direct translation will work for another. Here we learned through discussions and focus groups that concepts like "brave" and "strong" resonated more with certain audiences and so we adapted the words to keep the integrity of the message that talking about your feelings can really help. Argus' amazing Chief Strategy Officer José Nieto shows it process perfectly with this deck he put together for last years The Ad Club's Rosoff Equity Project with the final message of, "Inclusivity and cultural relevance are about both intent and process. How you do it counts."
