We are excited to announce the appointment of Chief Master Sergeant Bridget Bruhn as the new Command Chief of the Air Force’s Enlisted Education Center. With a distinguished career and a proven track record of leadership, Chief Bruhn is set to bring a wealth of experience and dedication that will impact the education and development for over 432,000 total force personnel. The Air Force's Enlisted Education Center serves six stateside noncommissioned officer academies, the Senior NCO Academy, the Chief Leadership Course, the Community College of the Air Force, the Air Force Enlisted Heritage Research Institute, the Enlisted Professional Military Education Instructor Course, and the Foundations courses. It also supports the 68 Airman Leadership Schools across the globe. AIRPOWER INDEPENDENT OF RUNWAYS ... The key to supporting Taiwan Consider this Concept of Operations (CONOP) for the United States Air Force: - An aircraft generation squadron operating with the US Marine Corps stays mobile in the first island chain, going from hide site to hide site. China is unable to solve the "SCUD problem," and squadron personnel stay safe. - The squadron is sent a Low-Probability of Intercept (LPI) "execute message" from the joint command center, which includes preplanned parameters (number of aircraft, payload, rendezvous points, etc.). - The squadron executes a meticulously planned operation, moving to a pre-surveyed road on the island and initiating aircraft generation. This process involves unpacking the aircraft, assembling the wing structures, and inserting the mission modules and weapons. - The two launch teams move to their positions. The actual length between them is classified, but it is <<8000 feet. They put the first aircraft on the trolleys and prepare to launch. - Both teams employ the trolley technique to launch their aircraft. This method involves launching left to right, then right to left, and repeating as necessary to get the aircraft in the air. It's a coordinated dance of precision and timing, honed through multiple exercises. Spares are ready to fill in as needed. - The aircraft fly to their pre-planned execution points, updating their mission software en route. - The joint command center matches them with targets of opportunity. These aircraft execute as directed. - The aircraft that survive fly to prioritized recovery zones, cut their engines, deploy their parachutes, and float to the ground or water. - Recovery teams take these aircraft, do minor repairs as necessary, and then give them to the Marines logistics teams, who deliver them to the launch teams. - Repeat x10000 - With airpower support, the Taiwan Defense Forces repel the Chinese assault on their country (yes, I said country). The United States remains the preferred security partner in Asia, which has huge benefits for our economic health and well-being. The U.S. Air Force has reintroduced warrant officers for the first time in 65 years to enhance its digital warfare capabilities, especially against China. These officers, skilled in cyber and IT, will bridge the gap between technical operations and leadership. The eight-week training program focuses on developing their advisory, communication, and technical integration skills. By fostering specialized expertise, the program aims to create highly capable leaders who can navigate the complexities of modern digital warfare. Department of Cyberspace Studies -- (AFIT/EXC) Joint Intermediate Cyberspace Operations course (Cyberspace 200) class FY24D students at the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology are off to a fast start! The students from both the United States Air Force and United States Space Force have completed their second day and so far, have participated in lessons including: ▶ Cyberspace History with Lt Col Jack Skoda ▶ Cyberspace Operations and Organizations with Mr. Jermeko Cassel ▶ Mission Assurance with Lt Col Jason Fields ▶ Joint Planning Process with Mr. Jordan B. ▶ Joint All Domain Operations with Lt Gen (Ret) Tom Jones ▶ Operational Design I with Mr. Jordan B. One curriculum block down...five to go. We start exercise activities tomorrow to put into practice what has been learned so far in the Cyberspace 200 Fundamentals block. Strengthening tools of National Security. Kelly Shinners, a William & Mary student set to graduate in 2025, has made a significant contribution to national security and operational readiness through her internship with the Air University Innovation Accelerator AUiX. Shinners developed CHUCKGPT, a customized version of ChatGPT, that is designed to assist players of Kingfish ACE. This innovation has garnered attention from the Air Force, including Secretary Frank Kendall, to whom she presented her work. Jeremy VanEgmond, chief of the education lab at AUiX, said the following: “She has taken on various projects that are making waves at Air University, including a customized wargame GPT that’s backed by an impressive dataset and is getting attention from several leaders within the organization. I needed a bit of encouragement this morning, and this vision of the future of our Air and Space Force leadership did just that. These 1,180 cadets, of mostly 19 & 20-year olds, gathered for a combined retreat ceremony while at Field Training in Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. They are our future. And they deserve our best. Stay encouraged, friends…our rising youth and young leaders are counting on us. Huge kudos to our hard-working ROTC cadre and United States Air Force’s Air University for deliberately developing our leaders of tomorrow.
