The best AED is the one that’s readily available. Yesterday, both sides of the river—from Hamilton County to Northern Kentucky—came together to launch Phase 3 of Project Heart ReStart. Leaders and community members from across the country were in attendance, along with survivors who lives we saved by an AED. This lifesaving mission began after the world witnessed Damar Hamlin’s sudden cardiac arrest during Monday Night Football in January 2023, where a readily available AED saved his life on the field. It all started with Phase I, when The Christ Hospital Health Network partnered with Rotary Club of Cincinnati, ZOLL Medical Corporation, Cintas, Hamilton County Hamilton County Commissioners, to raise funds for 130 AEDs for all deputy cruisers for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. But the mission wasn't over yet and was only getting started. Phase II took the mission even further, organizing funding for 100 more AEDs across 26 law enforcement agencies in Hamilton County—making it the first ‘AED Ready County’ in the nation! Through two phases of Project Heart ReStart, more than $460,000 has been raised to purchase 230 AEDs. Now, with Phase III announced yesterday, the initiative expands into Northern Kentucky, creating a powerful new partnership with St. Elizabeth Healthcare. Together, we share one critical goal: preventing unnecessary cardiac deaths. Avive Solutions Inc.
