The CLEO Institute was honored to attend the first-ever Extreme Heat Summit at The White House! 🌡️🔥 Olivia Collins, Vice President of Operations and Programs, joined the event which brought together local, state, tribal, and territorial leaders, including Miami’s WeCount! and Chief Heat Officer Jane Gilbert, to discuss lessons learned, the Biden-Harris Administration’s heat mitigation efforts, and community-driven solutions. We heard from 9 federal agencies including FEMA, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, and more on their efforts to combat extreme heat and tools for better preparedness. Many thanks to the White House for gathering stakeholders on this critical topic and for investing in our communities’ safety. On the policy side, we are waiting on OSHA to end its public comment period and publish this much needed safety standard! Have you added your comments yet? https://lnkd.in/dtM3ajMz #ExtremeHeat #ClimateAction #CommunityResilience #HeatPreparedness #CLEOInstitute

This weekend's CLEO Speakers Network in Tallahassee was so powerful! 💪 Led by Karolyn Burns, Education and Curriculum Manager, participants received an engaging and comprehensive climate training. We were joined by the City of Tallahassee's Clean Energy Manager, alongside an inspiring group of students, educators, and local activists. Together, we not only discussed the importance of voting in the upcoming election but also had a heartfelt conversation about mental health among climate advocates. 🌎💚 Self-care and building community are essential as we push for change. We are so grateful for the opportunity to come together and support each other as we continue this fight. #CLEOSpeakersNetwork #ClimateAction #CLEO #Tallahassee
