What is the future of professional development and coaching and how is it changing?
In my 30 plus years of #industry experience, I am noticing a shift in how and why people connect. During my tenure in the W2 streets, we have had three generations enter the scene, three significant recessions, a global pandemic, a social justice surge, and lots of war and politics.
As a result, I believe development and coaching is growing but the levels of expertise changes. This has created generational conflict because the need for development is constant but the methods, cadence, and growth length has changed.
We see formal and traditional education slowing down but more specialized education increasing. One example is with the increase in technology, we have developers entering school for 18-24 months learning to code and build apps for a quarter of the cost and less than half the time as a standard #college #education.
Where does #coaching and professional development show up?
Great question....
It is now a more informal network of coaching, mentoring, and development and #leaders of all generations find themselves being trained by people sometimes the ages. and experience levels of their own children or grandchildren.
What does this mean for you???
If you are looking to grow and expand your skillset, you have to look for the #experts in the area of opportunity and be willing to learn a new way and new things in modalities that may differ from your past experience.
I have taken my own advice and I have a few coaches younger than me, way smarter than me, and often not as skilled in some areas as me. Don't let #conflict with your ego keep you in the stone ages. Get in the game!!
I use #ai, I use #analytics, I use #tiktok , I am also learning to stream, create content, and study teens to learn how to stream.
People say, Dawn Stone you should act your age.
I tell them, "Nahhhh, I'm not my mother's version of 50. I'm what you would call XYZ (pronounced x-zee), I am a #genx with #geny and #genz tendencies."
📣 Message: Don't let others hold you in a box that was not designed nor bedazzled by you. Find the right coach and develop yourself until your last day.
