The Doe Fund's mission is to develop and implement cost-effective, holistic programs that meet the needs of a diverse population working to break the cycles of homelessness, addiction, and criminal recidivism. All of The Doe Fund's programs and innovative business ventures ultimately strive to help homeless and formerly incarcerated individuals achieve permanent self-sufficiency.

    This year, the average starting wages of our graduates rose to 24% above NYC minimum wage. We're keeping up the momentum with new career training classes for high-demand jobs, starting with a pilot program in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) earlier this summer!     Exciting news! The foundation is finished at The Doe Fund’s 510 Gates Avenue transitional residence. Once completed, this facility will provide 200 men experiencing homelessness with the opportunity to join our Ready, Willing & Able program and transform their lives.     We're thrilled to share some exciting staff news! Lisa Charlton, who started her journey as a CASAC Case Manager, has been promoted to Clinical Supervisor at The Doe Fund's supportive housing residence, Villa House. She’s also achieved incredible milestones, including obtaining her Master of Social Work degree and becoming a Licensed Master Social Worker. 👏

    William Glenn, Program Director at The Doe Fund's Harlem Center for Opportunity, attended a resource fair at the Metropolitan Detention Center yesterday, where he shared the opportunities The Doe Fund offers to those preparing for reentry.   “I, for one, know the value of information that can be useful to people who are soon to be released from prison," he shared.
