As we observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it’s essential to shine a light on the stark disparities in breast cancer detection and outcomes among different racial and ethnic groups. According to the American Cancer Society, Black women are 40% more likely to die from breast cancer than white women, despite being diagnosed at a younger age and often with more aggressive forms of the disease. Hispanic women also face challenges, with lower screening rates contributing to later-stage diagnoses. Data shows that only 66% of Hispanic women receive routine mammograms compared to 76% of white women. These discrepancies underscore the urgent need for equitable access to preventive care and education. At The Exeter Group, we advocate for systemic changes that ensure all individuals receive the care they need. Together, let’s work towards a future where everyone has equal opportunities for early detection and effective treatment. #BreastCancerAwareness #HealthEquity #HealthDisparities #CancerCare #EarlyDetection #InclusiveHealthcare #ExeterCares #TheExeterGroup #TEG

Thank you Kaeleigh Borcia, MA for a powerful post in honor of National Coming Out Day. Exeter stands with our team members and the wider LGBTQIA+ community. #NationalComingOutDay #LGBTQIA+ #DEI #TheExeterGroup #TEG
Today is National Coming Out Day—a day that honors the bravery and resilience of those stepping into their truth. Coming out is more than a personal declaration; it's a bold statement that breaks down walls of prejudice and builds bridges of understanding. Each story shared illuminates the beautiful range of human experiences, helping to create a world where authenticity is celebrated. I know firsthand how powerful this visibility is. It’s a reminder that none of us are alone and that being true to who we are is something to be proud of. Support from allies is crucial—not only does it amplify our voices, but it also challenges harmful norms and creates spaces where all of us can feel safe, valued, and understood. I stand with everyone choosing to come out today, and I also support those who are still on their journey. No matter where you are in your process, your story is valid, and your courage is celebrated. https://lnkd.in/gD9uMYBR

In Exeter's Supplier Inclusion blog series by Gloria M., we cover five perceived challenges with supplier inclusion. In the latest blog post, we discuss Supplier Scarcity: Overcoming the Myth of Limited Diverse Suppliers in Specialized Markets. When discussing supplier diversity, a common refrain is the perceived difficulty in finding qualified diverse suppliers, especially in specialized fields like healthcare and medical manufacturing. This notion of “supplier scarcity” creates a barrier to unlocking the full potential of a robust, diverse supplier ecosystem. However, this perception is largely unfounded. On Wednesday we launched the first in a series of seven training sessions for the Leadership Development Institute at UI Health. Exeter trainers Latham Williams and Robin Pratts, MHA covered topics that included identifying and mitigating bias and navigating difficult conversations. The dialogue was rich, productive and favorably uncomfortable (at times). Many thanks to Rani Morrison Williams MS, MSW, LCSW, FACHE, CDE and her team for creating a safe and welcoming environment, and thanks to the participants for their engagement! We value our partnership with UI Health! #HealthEquity #ImplicitBias #DifficultConversations #LeadWithEquity #DEI #TheExeterGroup #TEG
