I'm excited to announce that my friend, the incredibly talented artist Caitlin Mello has just moved to San Diego from Nashville. This weekend, Caitlin will be joining us at San Diego Pride to create a community mural with The Keep A Breast Foundation. Visit our Traveling Education Booth to meet Caitlin, learn more about breast health, and even contribute to the mural! The theme of the mural is "My Chest, My Choice," reflecting our commitment to inclusivity and empowerment. At The Keep A Breast Foundation, we believe that if healthcare isn’t inclusive, it isn’t effective. “My Chest, My Choice” emphasizes that healthcare isn’t one-size-fits-all. We aim to create a supportive community and inspire a ripple effect of change. For non-binary, genderqueer, and trans individuals, the healthcare system often presents unique challenges, particularly in areas traditionally labeled as ‘women’s health.’ Discrimination and a lack of inclusive care can make navigating these spaces difficult. Additionally, men can also face a breast cancer diagnosis, and it's crucial they advocate for their health without stigma. Join us in promoting inclusivity and awareness.
