Empowering SMEs to Scale Hiring | Founder, CEO @ All The Hires

🎙️ I recently spoke with Robin Choy, co-founder of HireSweet, where we discussed LinkedIn use for recruiters as preparation for his upcoming webinar. Robin started creating content more actively on LinkedIn circa 2019 and since then has gained a lot of traction and business success on the platform. He has also earned Top Recruiting Voice with his contributions. Some great takeaways from that conversation (applicable not only for recruiters): 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐬. So, it's better not to post "you're doing X wrong, do Y instead. Here's how". Instead go with "I have been doing X wrong, then I tried Y and Z and Y actually worked. Here's how." 𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐫 𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐬. 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬. While you can gain followers, reactions and impressions, the only thing that matters at the end of the day is who is going to want to work with you. Even if your content is read by 300 people but those are your target audience, it's a lot better than having 100,000 impressions on an irrelevant topic that doesn't result in business. 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 1 𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐬. It is easy to spread yourself thin trying to cover everything and consequently just scratching the surface. Instead, try going for a series of posts on a topic, add a personal story, list recommendations, ask for opinions in relevant polls, host a webinar, etc. Thus you'll be able to gain a good understanding of how your audience engages with it as well as showcase your expertise better. Btw, I highly recommend connecting with Robin for cool recruitment-focused content and also listening to his The Modern Recruiter Podcast. ___ ➕ Follow for more content like this. 💬 DM for cooperation.

Helping European Start-ups scale and establish top notch teams in the North American Market || Founder at Desktime Talent Inc. || ⭐Rated a 2024 GEM Top Start-Up Recruiter⭐

I was enjoying the most recent episode of Robin Choy's, The Modern Recruiter Podcast yesterday with Josh Brenner of Hired and I found it interesting to hear that Hired is seeing a much higher position close rate in their platform among their Start-up and and SMB clients over Enterprise level clients. This leads you to believe that many Enterprise companies may be padding their candidate pools or are testing the waters but still not ready to ramp up hiring again. I have to agree with Robin, that this is insightful information and a something to consider for candidates on the market. While I wouldn't say cut large organizations out of your search, it very well may be worth your time to put more weight towards start-ups and SMBs. #foodforthought #jobmarket #opentowork #jobhunt

Will AI replace all recruiters? Or will we need MORE recruiters? How will the world of recruiting evolve? We’ve been hearing many opinions, fear-mongering and wishful thinking. But the truth is: nobody knows what the future looks like. I don’t know. Even Matt Alder who hosts The Recruiting Future Podcast doesn’t know. However, just being slightly better than pure randomness at predicting the future of recruiting can be a huge competitive advantage, for your company, and for your career. That’s why I invited Matt on The Modern Recruiter Podcast to learn as much from him on the topic of “how can be get slightly better at predicting the future of recruiting?“. Here are a few techniques that we discussed together: 1/ First, it’s about thinking in terms of probability and impact. You can never be 100% right, but you can still place bets - the goal is not to say “this will happen” but rather “there is a 70% chance this will happen, and if it does. the impact will be this”. 2/ Then, there are some things that are really likely to happen, because the trend has been going on for years and there’s no sign of change. Doesn’t mean this can’t change, but that’s unlikely: - Candidates expectations are getting higher. - There’s a skill crisis coming, with professionals needing to train to stay on top of the market needs constantly (nobody learnt to use ChatGPT in school, though it’s probably one of the best skill to focus on right now) - The adoption of new tools and technology will keep on accelerating. It took 100 years for the car to be widely adopted, 30 years for TV, 10 years for internet, 1 year for ChatGPT. 3/ For the rest we can look at how the world behaved historically. It’s *likely* some patterns will repeat. The link to the full episode is in the comments. 👇 #recruiters #recruitement #talentacquisition #future

444 people subscribed to The Modern Recruiter Podcast's substack newsletter since we launched it in January! That's huge. I'm not exactly sure why they did it (and I'd love to hear from you if you're a subscriber!) but I believe it's: 1/ To get a notification for each new episode 2/ To read the easy-to-digest written summaries with key learnings and get most of the learnings in a 2-min read Btw, that's +51 people (or +13%) in the past 5 days alone! Maybe a sign that the new name sticks, or that our great latest episode with Natalie is going viral! Go to the first link in comments to read the previous episodes' summaries and decide for yourself if its worth subscribing :) I'm curious: If you're a subscriber yourself, why did you subscribe? 👇 #themodernrecruiter #podcasting #recruiting

A few weeks ago I recorded a podcast episode with Vanessa Rath about how to leverage ChatGPT to source candidates. Turns out to be my most successful episode ever. 5 things to remember from this discussion: 1/ Job boards were supposed to replace recruiters. LinkedIn was supposed to replace recruiters. But it never happened. Same with ChatGPT. 2/ Everything comes down to being good at prompting (=giving the right instructions to ChatGPT) 3/ Don't copy-paste a bland result from ChatGPT after your first prompt. Rather keep prompting over ChatGPT's replies until you're satisfied with the result. 4/ Always double-check what ChatGPT writes since it's prone to write things that are completely wrong. 5/ Most effective use cases for ChatGPT in soucing: -improving job descriptions -refining outreach messages (email/LinkedIn) -drafting booleans strings -helping write functions in spreadsheets -helping translate texts Link to the full episode in the comments :) #recruiters #recruitment #talentacquisition #sourcing #ai

Working as a “fractional” recruiter is not exactly being freelance. It’s not RPO either. It’s something else, and it’s a new deep trend. But how does this work exactly? How do you get started? I invited Natalie Stones on my podcast The Modern Recruiter Podcast to share all her tips and expertise, and she obliged! After 20+ years in recruitment, both in agencies and as an internal Head of TA, Natalie wanted something different, and decided to go “fractional”. During that discussion she shared: - Her initial go-to-market strategy (client referrals + cold outreach). - What’s her typical schedule (10 hours a week as a part-time recruiter for 4 different companies) - How much she charges and how to think about pricing - The 4 major upsides of turning fractional and the unexpected downsides Here's the link: https://hubs.ly/Q021zFQ10 #podcast #recruiter #recruiters #talentacquisition
