At Northbridge we love to have FUN at work! Our CEO, Jim Coughlin, recently visited our community, Ledgewood Bay, during our Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive and brought with him the Christmas Spirit and the Season of Giving! It was all for a great cause, raising money for the Compassionate Caregiver Fund! The fund supports our dedicated associates during their time of need. We visited our only community in New Hampshire during our next stop on the Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive and were treated to a nice break from the recent heat wave with a little bit of snow and a Christmas in July celebration! It was wonderful to celebrate the season of giving in an effort to raise funds for our Compassionate Caregiver Fund. It’s not everyday that Northbridge co-founders, Jim Coughlin and Wendy Nowokunski find themselves in a Santa mask and dancing the wobble at the entry way of their community, but it was great reminder of why we embarked on the FunDrive in the first place - finding every reason to make our associates feel valued, seen and supported. Our next stop of the Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive was filled with great friends, amazing food, and furry friends! Northbridge co-founders, Jim Coughlin and Wendy Nowokunski had a great time celebrating with the team at Bayberry at Emerald Court! It’s been great to meet, connect and reconnect with the many amazing associates throughout Northbridge as part of the Compassionate Caregivers FunDrive. So many of them give so much of themselves to make sure our residents spend every day Living Well and Loving Life. The Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive has given us the chance to let our associates know how much we value them and all that they do and to remind everyone what a great resource the Compassionate Caregiver Fund can be. Our next stop of the Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive took us Under the Tuscan Sun with an Italy inspired luncheon at The Mariner Marblehead! In addition to celebrating 20 years of Northbridge, this celebration was extra special because it was the One Year Celebration of The Mariner Marblehead. Co-founders, Jim Coughlin and Wendy Nowokunski were able join residents, associates and partners, Heather Cairns and Michael Lafayette of Pleasant Street LLC to celebrate a great year and the accomplishment of bringing senior living to Marblehead. As Jim and Wendy continue visiting each Northbridge community it has been great to see the creative spirit of our communities come alive with a variety of celebrations. From Casino Nights to Family Reunions and lunch under the Tuscan Sun, it has been a whirlwind experience. The best continues to be the moments spent talking with associates and being reminded of the reason for the FunDrive, the Compassionate Caregiver Fund, which provides support for associates during their time of need. The first stop in our Massachusetts leg of the Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive took us to a tropical party complete with games, fun drinks and a car show! Avita of Newburyport put together a Hawaiian Luau right in Newburyport. Co-founders, Jim Coughlin and Wendy Nowokunski were able to catch up with associates, meet a few of our valued referral partners and spend time with family members. Avita of Newburyport Maintenance Director, Marie, gifted Jim and Wendy handmade signs that spell out their last names. It’s been amazing to see the many creative celebrations our communities have planned but the best part is always the moments spend talking with associates and being reminded of the reason for the FunDrive, the Compassionate Caregiver Fund, which provides support for associates during their time of need. What an amazing time celebrating our valued community partners at our Appreciation Bash! It was so great to meet and mingle with our referral partners from our communities: Avita of Brunswick, Avita of Stroudwater, Avita of Wells, Granite Hill Estates, Stroudwater Lodge, and Sunnybrook. Our last stop in Maine for the Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive was a Casino Night at Avita of Wells! The party was complete with handmade sushi rolls, amazing food, fun drinks and a little bit of gambling! Co-founders, Jim Coughlin and Wendy Nowokunski were able to visit with the amazing associates at Avita of Wells and jump in to play a game or two with residents and family members. The team at Wells presented Jim and Wendy with a beautiful gift in recognition of 20 years of Northbridge. Traveling to each Northbridge community in celebration of our 20 year anniversary has been a perfect reminder of what makes Northbridge so special, the associates. It puts into perspective how important it is to fundraise for the Compassionate Caregiver Fund, which provides support for associates during their time of need. Our third stop on the Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive was a Family Reunion BBQ at Stroudwater Lodge and Avita of Stroudwater! Northbridge co-founders, Jim Coughlin and Wendy Nowokunski had a blast catching up with family members (current and past) and reconnecting with associates in celebration of 20 years of Northbridge! At Northbridge we know what an honor and privilege it is to be entrusted to provide care for our residents by their families. This celebration was a great reminder that our associates are not only caring for a person but someone’s mom, dad, or loved one. Day 2 of the Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive took us to Brunswick Maine and was a blast from the past and filled with circus fun! Avita of Brunswick and Sunnybrook welcomed Northbridge owners Jim Coughlin and Wendy Nowokunski with a Sock Hop and a Day at the Circus in celebration of our Compassionate Caregiver fundraiser. As we continue celebrating 20 years of Living Well and Loving Life at Northbridge and honoring our amazing residents and associates, we are constantly reminded of the reason behind our FunDrive- the Compassionate Caregiver Fund. This fund was started after COVID with the realization that so many of our associates do so much to help our residents and sometimes need a little bit of extra help themselves. This week, with the help of a generous donor, all donations will be matched, up to $25,000.
