Sue is the fearless leader of our community, Laurelwood at The Pinehills in Plymouth MA and has created an environment where all her residents, associates and family members feel valued, accepted, respected and cared for. We are excited to celebrate all of the nominees and winners of the Massachusetts Assisted Living Association (Mass-ALA) Excellence Award Dinner. Northbridge had over 25 associates nominated for awards and 4 award winners! It was a great night celebrating the many hardworking, dedicated and caring people who do so much to care for seniors in Massachusetts. Special congratulations to our award winners: Susan McKenna (Executive Director Award), Alex Duda (Dining Services Award), Lucie O'Brien (Resident Spirit Award), and Mary Ellen Driscoll (Program Innovation Award).

We APPRECIATE our community partnerships! Last week Stone Hill at Andover Executive Director, Karla Rossi, accepted a dedication from Joe Bevilacqua, President at the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce in recognition of 5 years serving the seniors and families of Andover and the Merrimack Valley. It was a memorable event and a great reminder of how far the community has grown since first opening their doors!

We hit the road again for our next stop in the Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive! This stop took us to a Hawaiian Luau at Stone Hill at Andover. It was a celebration filled with music, dancing, family, friends, fun and amazing food- special thanks to chefs Victor and Jose for the incredible food spread! It was an evening made extra special as Jim Coughlin and Wendy Nowokunski joined the Stone Hill at Andover team to celebrate their 5 year anniversary! In honor of 5 years serving seniors and families the community was recognized with a dedication from the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce. In celebration of 20 years of Northbridge, we are visiting every Northbridge community for the Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive. "Steady as we go." Yesterday we hosted our Mid-Year Meeting with all company Executive Directors and Home Office team members. It was an inspiring day filled with meaningful discussions about how we can continue to enhance our support for families, provide comprehensive associate training, and deliver compassionate, individualized care to each resident. The meeting was a fantastic opportunity to share innovative ideas, foster collaboration, and build even stronger connections within our team. We are proud to share that our very own Jazz CVitan, CDP, CADDCT, Program Director at Avita of Needham, has been announced as a member of the Senior Housing News Class of 2024 Future Leaders! Jazz has been a dedicated member of the Northbridge family for many years and has become an instrumental part in our memory care training. She shares her passion for memory care with all families, residents and associates she works with. One of Jazz's nominators shared, "Through her visionary leadership and heartfelt compassion, Jazz has not only transformed the lives of those in her care but has also inspired a broader movement towards person-centered dementia care. Her impact resonates far beyond the walls of our community, leaving an indelible mark on the field of dementia care." At Northbridge we love to have FUN at work! Our CEO, Jim Coughlin, recently visited our community, Ledgewood Bay, during our Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive and brought with him the Christmas Spirit and the Season of Giving! It was all for a great cause, raising money for the Compassionate Caregiver Fund! The fund supports our dedicated associates during their time of need. We visited our only community in New Hampshire during our next stop on the Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive and were treated to a nice break from the recent heat wave with a little bit of snow and a Christmas in July celebration! It was wonderful to celebrate the season of giving in an effort to raise funds for our Compassionate Caregiver Fund. It’s not everyday that Northbridge co-founders, Jim Coughlin and Wendy Nowokunski find themselves in a Santa mask and dancing the wobble at the entry way of their community, but it was great reminder of why we embarked on the FunDrive in the first place - finding every reason to make our associates feel valued, seen and supported. It’s been great to meet, connect and reconnect with the many amazing associates throughout Northbridge as part of the Compassionate Caregivers FunDrive. So many of them give so much of themselves to make sure our residents spend every day Living Well and Loving Life. The Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive has given us the chance to let our associates know how much we value them and all that they do and to remind everyone what a great resource the Compassionate Caregiver Fund can be. Our next stop of the Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive took us Under the Tuscan Sun with an Italy inspired luncheon at The Mariner Marblehead! In addition to celebrating 20 years of Northbridge, this celebration was extra special because it was the One Year Celebration of The Mariner Marblehead. Co-founders, Jim Coughlin and Wendy Nowokunski were able join residents, associates and partners, Heather Cairns and Michael Lafayette of Pleasant Street LLC to celebrate a great year and the accomplishment of bringing senior living to Marblehead. As Jim and Wendy continue visiting each Northbridge community it has been great to see the creative spirit of our communities come alive with a variety of celebrations. From Casino Nights to Family Reunions and lunch under the Tuscan Sun, it has been a whirlwind experience. The best continues to be the moments spent talking with associates and being reminded of the reason for the FunDrive, the Compassionate Caregiver Fund, which provides support for associates during their time of need.
