Yesterday we introduced you to some of the volunteers who help keep our My First Library program running. Today a glimpse of some of the studens who have taken part in our yearly My First Library Book Fairs and the new books they chose. Thanks to all who support the Original Six My First Library program. SCEDA Women get it done! This group of volunteers helped the O6 team stamp and box over 4,000 #MyFirstLibrary books in1 hour! The new early reader books will be among over 32,000 books that the Original Six will distribute to more than 3,200 students in rual and underserved commuities during a series of My First Library Book Fairs in May. This #O6Afterschool Teacher Spotlight shines on Ms. Shauntee Pressley, who serves as a Main Street Elementary School of Arts & Leadership guidance counselor during the day and is making a tremendous impact in her first year working in the O6 Afterschool program. Ms. Pressley holds an SC Read to Succeed literacy certification and plays a vital role in the O6 Afterschool Intervention Lab, where she uses her expertise to support students through the Lexia and DreamBox programs. Thanks to her leadership, Main Street Elementary School of Arts & Leadership now has the highest program usage in the district. Her personalized interventions in both literacy and math help ensure that students are on the path to success, and her dedication to their growth is truly remarkable.
