On this solemn day, we pay tribute to the heroes who selflessly rushed toward danger, including our brave military personnel. The unwavering courage of our military forces, firefighters, first responders, and everyday citizens stands as a testament to the strength of the human spirit. Their sacrifice and determination continue to inspire us, reminding us that even in the darkest moments, hope and unity prevail. Let's also extend our thoughts and gratitude to the families who were affected by this tragedy. Your resilience is remarkable, and your loved ones will never be forgotten. It's that time of year again - the Pararescue Foundation is on the 2024 CFC list #84320! The online giving system is now open for pledges until January 15, 2025. PJF would be honored if you showed your support by donating at GiveCFC.org. The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is one of the largest and most successful workplace fundraising campaigns in the world. Overseen by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is #employeefocused, #costefficient, and effective in providing all #federalemployees and retirees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. The CFC is the official workplace giving campaign for federal employees, including #militarymembers, and retirees. We've gotten some new followers, so allow us to reintroduce ourselves! The Pararescue Foundation is a #501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to exclusively support #USAF Pararescue and Combat Rescue Officer service members, veterans and their families. #Pararescuemen (PJs) and their #CombatRescueOfficer (CRO) leaders are the only U.S. force specifically trained and equipped to execute the most dangerous and technical rescue operations worldwide. Regardless of enemy threat or environmental conditions, these elite warriors stand ready to find isolated and injured people, render expert medical care, and return them safely. Such selfless service takes a toll on military families. These warriors operate at a convergence of roles known to be high-risk for Post-Traumatic Stress: #groundcombat, #traumamedicine, and the recovery of human remains. Also, the physical burden of carrying patients, rescue equipment, and combat loads through parachute insertions, armed conflict, open ocean swims, glacier travel and mountainous terrain routinely results in chronic physical and neurological damage.
