As the year comes to a close, we're thankful for our amazing client and business partners. In 2024 we forged a partnership with TBM designer and developer Underground Infrastructure Technologies Corporation (UGITEC) of Japan and look forward to a collaboration that will provide advanced solutions to the industry.  Our experienced partners have made challenging tunnel projects successful ones the world over - from boring the 43.5 km long AMR Tunnel in India with Jaiprakash Associates Ltd. to overcoming obstacles in Turkey's complex ground with Kolin Construction. We're also continuing a long-standing partnership with contractor Kiewit on TBM rebuilds - most recently for a 5.6 m diameter Main Beam TBM being refurbished in our Solon, Ohio, USA facility. The proven machine is bound for Maryland's Ellicott City North Tunnel, a Kiewit-Traylor JV project.  As we move into 2025, we're grateful for our partners, who are the cornerstone of each and every successful project. We’re proud to announce the St. Louis, Missouri, USA’s Jefferson Barracks Tunnel won a Tunnel Achievement Award from TBM: Tunnel Business Magazine Business Magazine! The challenging project for MSD Project Clear was completed with a customized 4.1 m diameter #Robbins Main Beam machine. Have you ever wondered how Tunnel Boring Machines get their names? In 2022, a 7.4 m diameter #Robbins EPB named ‘Alice’ completed a 2.5 km long tunnel toward Trudeau Airport in Montreal, QC, Canada: https://lnkd.in/g3Z6QK8E. The machine was named in honor of Alice Evelyn Wilson, the first woman professional geologist employed by the Geological Survey of Canada. In 2023 she was honored with the naming of a new mineral, alicewilsonite-(YCe).
