When you're taking a guided tour, the guide is an essential part of the equation. A good guide can make your experience on a tour the most memorable part of your trip. But on the flip side, an unfavorable experience may do just the opposite. So what should you do if you have a negative experience with a tour guide? Our CEO Sean P Finelli sat down with Fodor's Travel to discuss what traveler's should keep in mind if they're having a negative experience on a tour: "I’d encourage travelers to remember that tour guides are just people at the end of the day. People who are extremely passionate about what they do. It’s not easy to get a license to be a tour guide, especially in Europe, so tour guides take what they do very seriously. But all people have bad days, so if you have a bad experience on a tour, it’s more than likely the guide is just having an off day."
