I am thrilled to introduce the outstanding women who have been awarded the 2024 Maxwell Scholarship for Women in Computing & Engineering. This scholarship recognizes and supports women pursuing higher education in computing and engineering fields.
This is the 10th anniversary of the Maxwell Scholarship, and the first year that the scholarship has been awarded in the state of #Indiana – coinciding with the launch of the Indiana Women IN Tech Week, September 15-22!

Suhani Lodha – #Biomedical Engineering, Purdue University
⚕Suhani impressed our judges with her academic performance and her innovative spirit. Through her Biomedical Engineering studies, Suhani identified an opportunity to apply data analysis, engineering, and medical advancements to help individuals suffering from opioid addiction. Her scholarship essay articulated systemic challenges that opioid patients face, and offered innovative, pragmatic approaches to overcome those challenges and offer support, treatment, and relief to millions around the world.
Haylie Rayl – #Computer Engineering, Purdue University Indianapolis
💻 Haylie impressed our judges with her passion for engineering and the way she has applied her passion and expertise to the life sciences. Haylie is actively engaged in a research effort to study the effects of electromagnetic fields on proteins that contribute to Alzheimer's Disease. By leveraging her skills and education in computer engineering, programming, and #AI, Haylie aims to develop innovative solutions that can more effectively detect and treat Alzheimer’s Disease.
These inspiring women have demonstrated exceptional talent, dedication, leadership, and passion in their selected fields. I am proud to support their educational journeys and look forward to seeing their contributions and impact through #computing and #engineering.
