In a manner reminiscent of Jesus' healing ministry, Mount Carmel Health Systems—a member of Trinity Health, which stands as one of the largest not-for-profit, faith-based healthcare organizations in the nation—remains deeply committed to investing in the Columbus community. They are enthusiastic about expanding their mission to encompass the holistic treatment of mind, body, and spirit. It was a privilege to hear from Bishop Earl K. Fernandes, Tauana McDonald, President & CEO of Mount Carmel Health Systems, and Dr. Todd Ambrosia, President of Mount Carmel College of Nursing. Tauana shared her perspective on the vision behind two wellness initiatives: establishing an Emergency Department at Mount Carmel New Albany and constructing a new hospital in Dublin. Throughout their discussion, Dr. Ambrosia emphasized the vital importance of nurturing and training compassionate nurses to meet the community's growing healthcare needs. “We are in this together. The health and well-being of our community is a shared responsibility,” Tauana emphasized, highlighting the collaborative spirit that reinforces Mount Carmel’s endeavors.

The open-hearted generosity of our donors has touched millions of lives over the past forty years. The Catholic Foundation’s Kyrie Bequest Society (KBS) members are a testament to the faithful’s commitment to aligning their gifts with their values and creating real-world impact in our Catholic community. You become a Kyrie Bequest Society member by simply naming The Catholic Foundation in your will, living trust, or beneficiary designation. We honor this dedicated group of over 1,000 members yearly by celebrating Mass and enjoying fellowship at a luncheon. The Catholic Foundation is grateful to all the KBS members who attended our recent gathering at Our Lady of Victory Church. If you have generously included The Catholic Foundation in your estate plans, please let us know so we can recognize you as a member of the Kyrie Bequest Society. We are also happy to provide more information about becoming a member of KBS. Please contact Scott Hartman at 614-443-8893 or shartman@catholic-foundation.org.

Last week, Loren Brown, CEO and President of The Catholic Foundation, was installed into the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. The ceremony took place in the beautiful St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and installed 90 Knights, the largest group in the order's history. New Knights include Fr. Jan Sullivan, Rector at St. Joseph Cathedral, Fr. Stephen Smith, Pastor of St. John Paul II Scioto Catholic Parish in Portsmouth, and Fr. Vince Nguyen, Pastor of St. Mary’s German Village. They join fellow Knight Fr. David Schalk, Vicar for Hispanic Ministries for the Diocese of Columbus, and many other Knights, Dames, and Priests of the diocese. The Order's decree dates to the time of the Crusader Knights, who were responsible for protecting Christian pilgrims traveling to sacred sites. Their mission is to strengthen Catholic values and beliefs, support the Catholic Church in the Holy Land, and protect the rights of Christians there. Congratulations to the newly installed Knights, Dames, and Priests. May God continue to bless the work of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre.
