As the Chief Education Officer at Children’s Minnesota and Medical Director of the Gender Health Program, Dr. Goepferd has spent nearly two decades advancing equitable healthcare for children, particularly for transgender and gender-diverse youth. Their work with the LGBTQIA+ community has made a lasting impact, including launching the largest pediatric Gender Health Program in the region and serving as a powerful voice for inclusive, affirming healthcare. Dr. Goepferd’s advocacy has earned them numerous awards, including special recognition from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the HealthCare Heroes Award for Health Equity, and the Lavender Community Pride Award. With a TED talk on gender identity and a seat on the board of Rainbow Health, Dr. Goepferd continues to be a sought-after leader and speaker in LGBTQIA+ health and wellness.
