There’s been lots of buzz about Project 25 as we draw closer to the November election and since actress Taraji P. Henson mentioned it on the BET Awards. But what exactly is it and how would it impact Black Americans? From civil rights, to food access, to education and environmental program elimination, Black Enterprise takes a look at just a few of the many implications from the nearly 1,000-page document that would serve as a blueprint for the next Republican Administration, and how it could drastically reshape federal government and change the daily lives of many Americans. 📸: Ashlei Stevens

Black women are the backbone of this country. We live in a country that does not love us back. And yet so many of us still exude joy, go to college, and have impactful careers. Black women, we are unstoppable. No matter what the media tells us or what people have to say, Black women are and have always been the backbone of this country. #blacklinkedin #blackwomen #blackpeople #blackprofessionals #culture #community #linkedincommunity

Hey, y'all. So yesterday I shared two sentences that took off like wildfire, which got me thinking. I'm going to summarize the first thing as short as I can muster for those who aren't interested in following links outside of LinkedIn. For those who don't mind, you can see the full post here: https://lnkd.in/ekfJPVpN The first thing I came away with was this: Use your platform to amplify others. That's just what happened yesterday. Lisa Hurley founder of The Great Exhale, and absolutely someone you should have on your LinkedIn feed if you don't already—for a million-and-one reasons, least of all for #FootwerkFriday (iykyk)—reposted my #BlueNote. Her repost led to a ripple effect that reached way more folks than I could have ever done on my own. Also, let the record show I'm still blown away that little old me is even on her radar, but that's neither here nor there. Bottom line is this: sharing someone else on your page costs you nothing and for the person you're reposting, it could mean everything. My deepest gratitude goes out to Lisa Hurley for amplifying my message. And to the many more that reacted, commented, and reshared, THANK YOU. Thing 2 that I came away with drops tomorrow. G’nite!

What a day we're having!! It's our first anniversary, and we're 100% in celebration mode. 🎉💚🙌🏾 Part of what we're celebrating is being featured in Sharon's Anti-Racism Newsletter! Our Founder Lisa Hurley was interviewed by her sis, and Curator-In-Chief of SARN, Sharon Hurley Hall (she/her) as part of SARN's "Building Our Own Table" series. Here's an excerpt: "The Great Exhale (TGE) is more than a community, it is a movement that centers Black women, supporting them in prioritizing self-care. We encourage Black women to put their proverbial mask on first, remove their superwoman cape, take a breath, and rest. It’s time for us to stop being the “strong Black woman.” It is time for us to relax. This is why the community focuses on self-care, soft living, and seeking joy. By providing a safe private space for Black women to be in community with each other away from harmful gazes, The Great Exhale promotes much-needed sisterhood and psychological safety. It is ideal for Black women who are ready to say no to hustle culture and yes to a life of ease." To read the full interview, go here 👉🏾: https://lnkd.in/ebdsq5iS #TheGreatExhale #Juneteenth

I can hardly believe that this week on Wednesday, (aka #Juneteenth) The Great Exhale will be 1 year old! 🎉💚💃🏾 What a ride it has been and continues to be. I’m so very grateful to everyone who has supported and is supporting me, and the community. 🙏🏾💚🙏🏾 There is no better affirmation with which to kick off this milestone week than this one: 🙏🏾 I am choosing to exhale 🙏🏾 I am choosing to exhale 🙏🏾 I am choosing to exhale In that spirit, I don’t have a big celebration planned—this time around. I’m actually on a health-related sabbatical, so I’m taking my own advice and doing less. So the turn up will be muted, but no less heartfelt. Looking forward to continuing to serve my community in divinely aligned ways. Asé 🙏🏾 #TheGreatExhale
