I've been having some conversations with colleagues recently and it seems like a lot of recruiters in tech and business are totally missing out on the amazing skills mental health clinicians bring to the table. And I get it - at first glance, fpr some roles, it might not seem like an obvious fit. But trust me, we've got some seriously transferable superpowers! (If I do say so myself). Think about it: We're masters of communication, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving. We can handle high-stress situations like pros, analyze data, and manage complex projects. And don't even get me started on our adaptability and cultural awareness! But here's the real kicker - in a world where companies are (finally!) prioritizing employee well-being and ethical practices, who better to have on your team than someone who's been trained to support mental health and navigate tricky ethical waters? I've seen some incredible examples of therapists and counselors absolutely crushing it in UX roles, HR, team management, go-to-market, and product development (just to name a few). They bring a unique perspective that's often missing. This is not to say that clinicians don't have a learning curve, but don't we all? Isn't that the point of the interview questions that ask about you learned from a specific project or initiative? So, here's my challenge to all the recruiters and hiring managers out there: Next time you're looking at resumes, don't automatically skip over the mental health pros. You might just find your next superstar employee! And, if you are looking for some talent for some of your corporate/organizations roles, reach out. I know some great people who are on the hunt I can introduce you to! Have any of you made the leap from mental health to tech or business? Or have you worked with someone who has? I'd love to hear your stories and experiences in the comments! Let's start changing the narrative, one conversation at a time. 💪🧠 #MentalHealthPros #HiddenTalents #Recruiting #digitalmentalhealth #healthtechnology

We recently completed our third wave of the TnT Mentorship Program, which included approximately 100 TnTers providing and receiving mentoring for 3-4 months. This initiative is headed up by our outstanding volunteer Mentorship Committee, and Clare Beatty, M.A. prepared and presented this data-driven report on their behalf to our Board. Of note, 100% of the 54 respondents were satisfied with their mentoring relationship and the program overall. Some respondents specifically mentioned career development strategies and resume/LinkedIn help as key factors in their satisfaction. As always, our Mentorship Committee is looking for ways to improve and noted respondents hope the program considers longer program duration and more structured goal setting in future cohorts. This program is one of the many unique benefits offered to our TnT members, and we are already looking forward to the next one!
