We are the Area Agency on Aging 1-C in Southeast Michigan servicing the 34 communities of southern and western Wayne County. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit; federal ID 38-2322126. Our programs and services include the MI Choice Medicaid waiver, nursing facility transitions, Meals on Wheels, Holiday Meals for Seniors, Medicare counseling, Friendly Reassurance, health and wellness programs, and many others. Our organization is always seeking the best candidates with a passion for helping others to join our team.     Medicare open enrollment is here! If you have questions, we have answers - or we will do our best to find them. The Michigan Medicare Assistance Program is a free service that helps you navigate Medicare and get the savings you deserve. Open enrollment for Medicare Part D runs from October 15-December 7. The Senior Alliance and its MMAP Community Counseling Sites offer free presentations and individual counseling throughout the year.     October is National Depression and Mental Health Screening Month – a month devoted to raising awareness for mental health and encouraging people to seek help for mental health concerns. We know aging-related issues and caregiving can cause added stress, depression, and anxiety.
