Preventing hunger and homelessness since 1986. Inspiring and serving humanity through faith and compassion.
About us
The Sharing Center has been preventing homelessness and hunger since 1986. Last year, over 20,000 neighbors received a hand up during the toughest times of their lives. By sharing food, providing emergency financial assistance and essential resources such as bus passes to gain steady employment, brand new shoes for a child in need, or a warm shower and free laundry service - we are helping to create respite and comfort for those on the brink of hunger and homelessness. Our Oasis is the only resource drop-in facility in Seminole County for our homeless neighbors to find community and support during their journey. Through our workforce development program, ProjectRISE, we help adults who are unemployed or underemployed obtain and keep jobs that can lead to self-sufficiency. Four weeks of classroom instruction are dedicated to emotional intelligence, job-finding skills and financial literacy. Roughly 98% of our workforce are volunteers; serving over 42,000 hours to help fulfill our mission in our Distribution Center, Pantry, and Thrift Stores. 90% of every donation or purchase supports our neighbors in need.

This heartfelt donation is a powerful reminder that no act of generosity is too small—every single person can make a difference! 🌎💙 Whether it’s a birthday donation, volunteering, or simply spreading kindness, YOU matter. Grateful for the opportunity to volunteer at The Sharing Center’s food distribution event in Seminole County, where we served 350 families facing food insecurity. Experiencing firsthand how a simple act of kindness can make a difference is a powerful reminder of how important it is to come together and uplift one another. Organizations like The Sharing Center rely on volunteers—98% of their workforce are volunteers—dedicating over 42,000 hours to support their mission across the Distribution Center, Pantry, and Thrift Stores. A huge thank you to The Sharing Center for organizing such a meaningful event and to the incredible volunteers and donors who make this work possible. Volunteer of the Month: Diane Shepheard! 👏🌟 Diane’s journey with The Sharing Center began in 2015 shortly after retirement. While camping with friends, she wondered, "What am I going to do now?"— looking for something meaningful a few days a week. That search led her to The Sharing Center, and she’s been a dedicated volunteer ever since! 💙✨ Starting with sorting donations, Diane quickly became an essential part of our team, organizing holiday decorations and more with incredible commitment. Her passion shines through in everything she does—if the job isn’t complete, she won’t stop until it’s done! 💪🎄🎁 After 10 years of service, Diane continues to inspire us all with her heart for helping others. Thank you, Diane, for your unwavering dedication and love for our mission! 💛 Consider being a volunteer like Diane.
