This is Where Democracy Begins. With reproductive freedom on the line in this election, no issue is more critical than protecting our ability to choose what we do with our bodies. So, we’ve put our belief front and center to take a stand for the world to see. Because our freedom to choose lives or dies with the protection of reproductive rights. See for yourself at Waverly Ave. and Flushing Ave., Brooklyn.

Financially mismanaged and increasingly inequitable, once a city that promised opportunity for all, New York is now seemingly for only a few. That's why in late May we hosted an in-studio event calling out NYC's shortcomings with the intent of inspiring new creative solutions that reflect and benefit all New Yorkers. Read more about WHO IS NYC FOR? in this extensive feature on the Dieline: https://lnkd.in/eJZS9ygv And don't lose hope, the Mayor says we're in the midst of a Trash Revolution. You can almost smell the change in the air. P.S. Have your own questions you need help answering? Or game-changing ideas you need creative executions for? Drop us a line.

Brands led by women are reinventing women's health through thoughtful solutions and inclusive design. The differentiating factor? First-hand insight. For our latest Words Piece, we spoke with the leaders of several of our favorite female-powered brands who are challenging stigma to make caring for our health feel better for us all. https://lnkd.in/ehAFaBH8 Much appreciation to Ariana Sopher of Reia, Emily Swanigan of PERIOD., Nadya O. of August, and Alexandra Fine of Dame Products.

A great event. What makes one? *Cue the self-indulgent platitudes around the "deeply insightful" lessons we learned that our community MUST KNOW to find their own success.* Jokes aside, we had a great event at our studio a couple of weeks ago because New York City showed the f*ck up. Thank you for that. It was a labor of love for our team and a true reflection of the love we have for our city and its people. Hope to catch you at the next one.

They say you have to make it at least 10 years in New York to be a "real" New Yorker – so after a decade of designing some of NYC's quintessential brands, cultural institutions and community organizations, ThoughtMatter is asking the big questions of our city and ourselves. With the NYCxDESIGN Festival kicking off this week, the countdown to our WHO IS NYC FOR? event on May 22nd has officially begun. In just one week, the ThoughtMatter studio will be filled with some of the brightest and most creative minds in NYC. We're hyped to bring this cohort together to inspire, provoke and meaningfully connect with each other. While we are at full capacity, we encourage you to join the waitlist here: https://lnkd.in/eTXFRaBf. We kindly ask current ticket-holders to please let us know if your plans change so we can release spots to those on the waitlist. See you there?

Ever question if New York City is really designed with its people in mind? And if so, which people? At ThoughtMatter, we embody the spirit of our city – we're not ones to conform. Instead, we stay curious, challenge the norms, and strive to build something better for our neighbors. Join us on May 22nd at our studio for an evening of inquiry as part of the NYCxDESIGN Festival. Through both original works and a showcase of our collaborations with some of the most inspiring NYC community organizations, brands and cultural institutions, we're provoking thinking and reflection on who our city truly serves. You in? RSVP here: https://lnkd.in/eEsXbXEh

To challenge the status quo, you first have to question it. As a team of artists, designers, writers and strategists, we feel a deep responsibility to deploy our creativity to support those we share NYC with. And sometimes that can mean asking the right questions on behalf of the many different voices that make up our city. On May 22nd, ThoughtMatter is transforming our Flatiron studio into a gallery of original inquiry-inspired works and highlights of our partnerships with some of NYC’s quintessential brands, cultural institutions and community organizations over the last decade. Join us in challenging our city – our home – to be one truly of and for its people. Curious to hear more?

As champions of organizations that uplift the arts, we intimately understand the importance of funding and community support – not only to sustain but to expand the reach of their impact. Recent DCLA budget cuts have undermined non-profits and cultural institutions across New York City, including our longtime friends at Art and Resistance Through Education (ARTE). In honor of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, ThoughtMatter created a sizzle reel for ARTE to amplify an interactive art-making project where young New Yorkers creatively reimagined the UDHR for new contexts and communities. We invite you to check it out below and join us in the Bronx this Sunday at ARTE’s annual fundraiser. More here: bit.ly/voj2024
