What's the cost of playing the percentages? Fewer free kicks. Fewer screamers. Fewer unforgettable moments. Football is chasing efficiency but sidelining the entertainment. The same goes for brands: if you’re not sparking emotion or building memories, you’re not creating tomorrow’s customers. Are both football and brands in danger of losing their future fans? Matt Boffey, Chief Strategy Officer, UK & Europe, shares his insights below. #MarketingStrategy #BrandBuilding #Data #WPP
Has football become boring? Is the same true of brands? And is data to blame? Efficiency vs. entertainment. What’s measured vs. what matters. Current customers vs. future fans. Lots on marketing and a little on Marcelo Biesla. It’s got it all, I promise. Something I’ve been kicking around (excuse the pun) since the Euros last year. Big thanks for all the conversations with my colleagues across Design Bridge and Partners (especially Benjamin, Claire, Anna, and Mark) that have helped shape this perspective. Comments and discussion are always welcome – let me know what you think! #MarketingStrategy #BrandBuilding #Data

For International Women's Day, our Singapore studio addressed an often-overlooked yet critical topic: menopause and its far-reaching impact across genders and age groups. We hosted an insightful panel discussion featuring Dr Sundus Hussain-Morgan and Valery Tan, Co-Founder of Surety, moderated by our very own Jonathan Lee. Together, they challenged misconceptions, shared personal experiences, and explored actionable solutions, emphasising the critical role of empathy in addressing menopause's effects on home life, workplaces, and relationships. Surety is leading the charge in Asia’s menopause movement. To drive meaningful change, we created a brand dedicated to illuminating every woman’s health journey—powered by Bayer’s leadership, scale, relationships, and research.
