Today is GLSEN's Day of (No) Silence! GLSEN’s Day of (No) Silence is a nationally-recognized student-led demonstration where LGBTQ+ students and allies all around the country protest the harmful effects of harassment and discrimination of LGBTQ+ people in schools. Two of our youth were interviewed for this piece on CNN. We are so proud of them for sharing their stories! Through our work with educators, schools, and community organizations, we are working to make the world more inclusive for LGBTQ+ youth.

🌟 Exciting News on the Dads With Daughters Podcast! 🌟 I had the honor of having David Samson, father and COO of Time Out Youth as a guest on the Dads With Daughters #podcast this week as we talked about his journey as a father, the incredible work of Time Out Youth, and how we can all support the LGBTQIA+ community and their youth. 💡 Here are 3 key takeaways from our discussion: 1️⃣ Acceptance & Support: There's still rampant unacceptance among LGBTQIA+ youth due to various factors such as religion, family structure, and lack of understanding. It's crucial for parents to create an open and accepting home environment for their children. 2️⃣ Resources for Advocacy: Organizations like PFLAG and Time Out Youth offer resources and support for parents and allies who want to advocate for and support the LGBTQIA+ community. Getting involved, attending local events, and supporting youth-serving organizations can have a tremendous impact. 3️⃣ Patience & Understanding: Patience and understanding are key in navigating conversations with LGBTQIA+ youth. It's okay to make mistakes, but being open, apologizing when needed, and actively learning about the experiences of your child can significantly strengthen your relationship. If you missed the episode, be sure to give it a listen! https://lnkd.in/gFp7ZavM #LGBTQIA+ #YouthSupport #DadsWithDaughtersPodcast

We were thrilled to find our CEO, Sarah Mikhail, featured on Axios Charlotte’s list of Impressive Women Shaping Charlotte in 2024! A reader submitted Sarah, stating that she is “creating meaningful change and community, all while fighting for LGBTQ youth in this tumultuous political climate.” We’re so glad to have Sarah at the helm and are proud to be making a difference in the community. 💖
