Thule wanted to say goodbye to tangled metal tubes and webbing straps. The Thule Raceway was our response. Ratcheting Cables: No old-school webbing. No-Sway Cages: No bumps. Molded Rubber Pads: No scratches. The Raceway has become a Thule mainstay. #ThuleRaceway #BikeCarrier #ToolInc #OutdoorAdventure #PremiumDesign #BikeSecurity #InnovativeEngineering

We teamed up with Huffy Bicycles to develop a set of cycling helmets that matched their target audience’s style. Our goal was to create designs that were not only stylish but also efficient to manufacture by using common internal components. Leveraging Huffy’s consumer research, TOOL built the initial range of concepts, refining them into two comparative designs for further development. We translated the complex surface designs into a comprehensive CAD package. Our efforts culminated in the release of the Huffy Parkside helmet in 2016, and this cruiser helmet continues to sell successfully today. #IndustrialDesign #CyclingHelmets #HuffyBicycles #Innovation #ProductDesign #Engineering #DesignExcellence

The InReach 2.0 is the handset for outdoor enthusiasts, offering reliable network communication anywhere via Iridium and GPS satellite systems. This device enables users to send and receive text messages, issue an SOS, share their location, and navigate with ease. TOOL played a key role in this project, generating a series of design concepts to explore different style directions. We then transformed the preferred designs into CAD models for rapid prototyping, creating scale hand-models for evaluation. DeLorme was acquired by Garmin, and the InReach family of handsets continues to thrive in the market today. #IndustrialDesign #ProductDesign #InReach #Garmin #Innovation #OutdoorTechnology #DesignExcellence

We’re proud to share our work on the Staples One-Touch Plus Desktop Stapler. This project involved enhancing the existing powerful spring-loaded mechanism to create a refined, professional aesthetic. By focusing on touchpoints with non-slip materials and designing surfaces for practical manufacturing, we produced a stapler that has been successfully on the market for over 5 years. Our collaboration with Staples, Inc. extends beyond this project, encompassing a variety of stapler-related innovations. From re-skins and mini staplers to mechanism ideation and packaging, we’ve consistently delivered design solutions that combine functionality and style. #IndustrialDesign #ProductDesign #Staples #Innovation #DesignExcellence

We partnered with Philips Color Kinetics to create a connected OLED solution. Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, this innovative device features waterproof capabilities and wireless connectivity, allowing users to interact via direct physical control or smartphone apps. The luminaire’s direct-view design makes it perfect for wayfinding and stylish, interactive color displays. Our team played a key role in defining the architecture and feature sets, developing and refining concepts, and finalizing the housing style. We detailed the part breakdown, providing a roadmap for two rounds of engineering. The result? A set of prototypes delivered to Philips Color Kinetics for validation. #Innovation #IndustrialDesign #Engineering #Prototyping #PhilipsColorKinetics #LightingDesign

Cascade, the leading lacrosse helmet manufacturer, wanted to design headgear for women’s lacrosse. Unlike men's lacrosse, women traditionally wear only goggles, posing unique design challenges. Our solution became the first-of-its-kind: a comfortable, lightweight, and visually appealing headgear that complies with ASTM standard F3137. The Cascade LX features a malleable outer shell, adjustable fit, integrated goggles, and Poron XRD impact protection. It's a game-changer for female lacrosse players, combining protection and style in a one-piece design. #Lacrosse #Innovation #Design #WomenInSports #DesignEngineering #MechanicalEngineering #3DModeling #ProductDesign #EngineeringDesign
