Teaming Opportunities: Towill is seeking for evaluation the following types of firms as part of our team to provide services to Caltrans District 59 for RFQ No 59A1330, On-Call Professional Airborne LiDAR, Photogrammetry, and Bathymetric Surveying Services, mainly for engineering design purposes: 1. DBE firms certified by the California Unified Certification Program (CUCP) that have experience acquiring aerial LiDAR data and/or aerial photography using a small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS), and subsequently processing the data, in accordance with Caltrans’ technical, administrative, & safety requirements. 2. DBE firms certified by the CUCP that have experience acquiring aerial LiDAR data and/or large-format, digital aerial photography using a piloted, fixed-wing and/or rotary-wing aircraft, and subsequently processing the data, in accordance with Caltrans’ technical, administrative, & safety requirements. 3. DBE firms certified by the CUCP that have experience performing classification of aerial LiDAR data & corresponding development of DTMs from the aerial LiDAR data in accordance with Caltrans’ technical & administrative requirements. 4. DBE firms certified by the CUCP that have experience performing aerial photogrammetric mapping from medium- and/or large-format, digital aerial photography (including planimetric & topographic feature extraction from stereo imagery, map editing & finishing tasks, corresponding development of DTMs, & development of digital orthophotography) in accordance with Caltrans’ technical & administrative requirements. 5. DBE firms certified by the CUCP that have experience performing geodetic control surveys, ground control surveys (including support of airborne GPS/GNSS control operations), quality assurance/quality control surveys, & other types of surveys incidental to aerial photogrammetric & aerial LiDAR surveying & mapping operations, and in accordance with Caltrans’ technical, administrative, & safety requirements. 6. DBE firms certified by the CUCP that have experience performing vessel-based (manned & unmanned) and/or airborne LiDAR bathymetric surveys (including data acquisition & processing) in accordance with Caltrans’ technical, administrative, & safety requirements. 7. DBE firms certified by the CUCP that have experience performing underwater ground penetrating radar data acquisition for sub-surface mapping and processing the data in accordance with Caltrans’ technical, administrative, & safety requirements. Towill is honored to have JR Gregory continue our long-standing relationship with Society of American Military Engineers, and we fully respect the importance of dam resilience.
Over the last two days I attended an event that is a career highlight. I was invited by DHS - Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to participate in a Dam Innovation Workshop while representing the Society of American Military Engineers. The work that was accomplished at this summit will be directly reported to the Presidents White House. The results of this summit will create the nations risk management strategy. What an honor it has been to be invited. 60+ individuals, our nations smartest people in the dam realm coming together to discuss dam resilience. Such an incredible experience. Two days packed full of incredible discussions. I also want to thank my firm Towill, Inc. for supporting me on this journey. I also want to thank DHS and US Army Corps of Engineers as I think the execution of this workshop was impeccable. I look forward to next steps and implementation. Really honored to have been included.

Congratulations to JR Gregory for graduating from the Society of Military Engineers (SAME) Leader Development Program. This program serves to identify and cultivate talent from within the Society’s membership to develop leaders for the future of the A/E/C profession and to address the nation’s grand challenges. Participants explore individual strengths and team dynamics as they build leadership experience alongside their peers in a true joint environment. Since its inception, about half of program participants have come from the uniformed services; the other half represent SAME member companies. Towill has been a proud SAME member for over three decades, with many of our staff members serving key roles on various boards.
