It's great to see a whole session focused on this and featuring our trailblazing partner Erik Hansen, CSO of Workday. 🎤 Carbon Project Pitch 🎤 I salute the project developers that will be getting up live on stage and pitching their projects to a group of buyers and investors. 🤝 Carbon Offtake Agreement Tutorial 🤝 When structured well, multi-year offtakes can offer outsize benefits for both buyers and sellers of carbon credits. This session will be a chance to learn from some of the pioneers of carbon offtakes. This one features Erik again and Bee Hui Yeh from our partner Patch. 📣 Comms Workshop: Credible Climate Claims 📣 When a buyer makes a thoughtful purchases of high-quality carbon credits, but doesn't follow that up with a similarly thoughtful claim, I think they miss opportunities to strengthen their brand and motivate others to take similarly thoughtful climate action. I'm glad to see this session focused on claims with a specific call-out about carbon credits. Excited to share my reflections on #ClimateWeekNYC. This year’s theme was “It’s Time.” I couldn’t agree more. ⏳ Here are some key takeaways: - Collaboration is essential for driving meaningful change. Partnerships between private sector, public sector, and non-profits, such as the work we support through Corporate Leaders Groups Europe, are crucial for accelerating climate action. 🤝 - Support solutions available today, while investing in the solutions of tomorrow. Organizations like Project Drawdown and Tradewater show that we can focus on non-CO2 gases like #methane as a high-leverage emergency brake on climate. 🌎 - Governments and the private sector agree that it’s imperative to create ways for companies to engage with the voluntary carbon market to scale high-impact, high-integrity climate solutions. Companies can maximize their sustainability budgets and leverage financing to create value by learning from experienced orgs, which is why Workday and Patch teamed up to share a playbook for Chief #Sustainability Officers. 📔 - Upskilling the workforce for a green economy is critical. My friend and colleague Carrie Varoquiers (Chief Philanthropy Officer), who leads our Workday Foundation, shared how investing in training and development for clean energy jobs will be key to a successful transition. 🧑💻 At Workday, we’ll continue to advance climate action, fund innovation to deliver promising technologies, build the workforce needed for a clean energy transition, and improve supply chain transparency for better emissions and climate data. This panel, taking place on September 26th, will address the importance of methane and other non-CO2 gases in the fight to prevent catastrophic climate change, and how partnerships can get us to scale on solutions that have impact today – when it matters most. Project Drawdown will join to talk about the importance of addressing methane and its impact as an “emergency brake” solution. Tradewater will highlight their developing methane program to address actively leaking orphaned oil and gas wells and talk about how Workday’s early support is catalyzing the scaling of this program. Workday will speak about their portfolio approach to proactively address emissions that cannot currently be reduced and the importance of addressing a significant climate challenge that’s historically been overlooked.
