Phase-Down Process: Refrigerants are being phased down, so this means choosing new refrigerant types for equipment, impacting roughly five percent of the market initially. 2. Upcoming Changes: As the phase-down on the GWP limit begins, a switch from R410 refrigerant is required. This change involves not only new equipment but also new refrigerant types, affecting future choices significantly. 3. Scope 1 Emissions Impact: A major portion of scope one emissions comes from fugitive refrigerant emissions. Accurately reporting these emissions, especially for refrigerants like R22, 410, and 134a, will be crucial for compliance. This 2024, these emissions need to be included in 10K filings, highlighting the importance of tracking and managing refrigerant inventory effectively.
