Send me your question! Last year, I picked 30 questions from my social network followers and answered one question per day for a month straight, and I am doing it again this year. I got questions all over the board like: • “How did you navigate firing your friends in the early days?” • “Can you give examples of strategies you used to maintain cashflow during rapid growth phases?” • “If you could give one piece of advice to a 3rd generation owner who is trying to transition their dad or uncle out of the business, what would it be?” It was a fun 30 days and the amount of interesting and challenging questions got me excited to do this again. BUT… there are three rules: 1.) I don’t speak about what I don’t know or have experience with. So please don’t ask me about the best undercarriage for a dozer. 2.) If you’re a salesman and pitch me your Chinese crusher parts or ultra slick grease, you will get blocked. 3.) If you are interested in applying to work for our companies, DM’ing me or commenting “I need a job” will also get you blocked. The only way to sort through all of the value-additive questions (both here and on Instagram) is to limit the junk. You can leave your question below in the comments section OR if you’d like to ask your question anonymously so that your name isn’t shared then shoot your question via DM. I will only pick 30. Proud and thankful for this team who worked hard all week at MINExpo 2024 to make it a success. I enjoyed all of the conversations, all of the laughs, and putting faces next to all of the names I see throughout the year online. Thank you Maya Ordoñez for dropping off the latest Global Business Reports (GBR) Western Mining 2024-25 Edition with our feature, it’s always my favorite publication. Huge thank you to the Komatsu Mining team who recognized our efforts in piloting their new ZT44 drills in Arizona. The coolest thing I saw at the show belonged to David Lawrence with his custom-made belt buckle which proudly displays the Turner Mining Group copper challenge coin he received for his teams’ safe & efficient customer service. And the most fulfilling conversation I had was with Ryan Bailey who is proudly growing his new company he started after helping us build Turner Mining Group in the early days. Ryan and I go way back and I couldn’t be more excited to watch what he builds, he’s one of the best people in the business. The hardest part about MINExpo is not bringing all of the team members you’d like but I can promise that the next show we will have a small army because we needed some reinforcements. The mining industry is it’s own worst enemy when it comes to public perception. Our industry is about to enter the biggest technology transition since the steam engine was invented and yet, most of our industry leaders and CEO’s sit quiet and avoid social media completely. How many 14 to 21 year-olds can name the 3 largest mining companies in the world? How many of them have ever visited a mine? How many of them can accurately name a machine used in mining or describe its purpose? I believe mining industry leaders and CEO’s have a duty and obligation to be vocal about our industry and their companies, not only when raising capital, but year-round. Their message needs to reach beyond investment bankers; it needs to reach the future workforce and strategic-thinkers of our industry. Sure, we need mine permitting reform here in the US to meet domestic demands. And yes, we need fresh capital investment to bring these new mines online. And without a doubt, even in good times mining is hard. But mining is sexy. Mining offers unbelievable career opportunities for young people now more than ever before. And the truth is, we NEED the next generation of big thinkers to join our fight. Autonomy, AI and the waves of experienced miners retiring will completely change our industry over the next 15 years. How are we attracting the brightest minds to the mining industry? I can promise you… it’s not some old white guy fumbling through PowerPoint slides in front of a classroom full of kids on their phones. Turner Mining Group

Chris is a Marine Corps veteran who joined our team in March and has already made a significant impact through his dedication and commitment to excellence at our South Carolina project. As a Haul Truck driver, Chris earned his CORE Employee of the Month nomination by consistently going above and beyond. He keeps his truck in top condition and takes initiative to maintain cleanliness and organization across the site, often completing tasks like picking up trash and washing vehicles without being asked. Big toys for a big sandbox. - We’re looking forward to deploying ten brand-new Komatsu HD785 haul trucks later this year. Core Machinery and Komatsu Mining have been hard at work making sure our fleet is operational when the next phase of our Arizona copper mining project begins.
