Julie will be responsible for implementing outreach efforts and focusing on local providers in the primary, secondary and tertiary service areas for TCRH. TCRH welcomes Jonathan Shelton, PA-C to its medical team. Shelton is a certified Physician Assistant and earned his Master of Physician Assistant from Bethel University in McKenzie, TN and his undergraduate from East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, TN in Biochemistry and Science Information Technology. He holds a certification in basic life support (BLS) and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Shelton has joined the team at Twin County Urgent Care located at 961 E. Stuart Dr., Galax, VA.

Twin County Regional Healthcare (TCRH) has received the American Heart Association’s achievement awards: 2024 Get With the Guidelines Silver Plus, Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite, and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll. Each year, TCRH qualifies for the award by demonstrating how the hospital has committed to providing quality care for stroke patients. In addition to following treatment guidelines, Get With The Guidelines also educates patients to help them manage their health and recovery at home. Carla Gunter, MSN, RN, SCRN, NVRN-BC, ASC-BC serves as the stroke coordinator at Twin County Regional Healthcare. Carla also serves as the in-service educator and nurse residency coordinator for TCRH. Congratulations on this great achievement!
